Destiny Rules DVD +5 ?
Do you think (hope) that FM/Warner will release the unreleased Say You Will tracks with a DVD release? I was listening to some of the SYW interviews and Lindsey said how "Warner" wanted the left over tracks. Release those 5 tracks!!!
|
Do we know exactly how many tracks were leftover? I know that I Am Waiting and Gift of Screws were recorded, but the rest are in the air. Someone said that All the Beautiful Worlds and Mistaken Love were possibly recorded (I'd love to see what Liddy did with ATBW!!!!), I'm wondering if it's true. And I am convinced that they at least worked on Space Needle.

Not sure of the exact tracks but the number of recorded completed songs is 23

yep

I'm thinking they were Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind, I Am Waiting, and Down on Rodeo. Although I suppose Stevie could have had something tossed out, too, lol.
|
I am hopeful that we're in store for another album so it would make sense for them to sit on those songs and release them as another album. I think that's most likely what they have planned

Does anyone know what the story with that Rolling Stones cover is? Like what song is was, who was going to sing it, and if it was ever recorded?

Bootylicious > I think the Stones cover is the 'I Am Waiting' track. Is that the one that Lindsey, Mick and John are 'jamming' on at the beginning of the VBOFM teaser video? |
The Stones cover is "I Am Waiting"- he played it at Soundstage.
You can also see Stevie singing the lyrics in the commercial for Destiny Rules. |
I have a feeling that the nine songs on 'Say You Will,' plus "Not Make Believe," are the only Stevie tracks they recorded, and that the three leftover tracks are all Lindsey's.
Lindsey talked about "Gift Of Screws" and "I Am Waiting," in his interview with Guitar Player magazine, so that clears up two of the three remaining. My guess for the third, would be "Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind." Of course, there's always the possibility that neither "Not Make Believe" nor "Love Minus Zero/No Limit" made the running order for the double album, so therefore they weren't among the "23 songs" we've heard were going to be included... leaving us with two wild-cards. |
I suspect that though the double album would have had 23 songs, there were more songs to play with. So probably there are five, six or seven songs left in there somewhere.
