What year did FM open for L&M

What year did Fleetwood Mac open for Loggins & Messina?

chiliD 02-12-2004 11:55 AM

1975

Considering the reputation that Loggins And Messina have over here and also the fact that I haven't heard anything by them, is this something they should be ashamed of? ;)

No. At the time, Loggins & Messina were more popular...but that didn't last long.

So the question could have been...
When did L&M beg to open for FM?

answer: 1975 ;)

Thanks, Chili. A friend of mine says he saw Fleetwood Mac in a bill with Loggins & Messina. But it was so long ago he couldn't remember if Lindsey and Stevie had joined by then. Now we know. We're thinking of catching the show out here this summer. I didn't go to any last year.

Yeah, I think they were touring TOGETHER for part of late summer/early fall in 1975. I saw Fleetwood Mac as THIRD bill with Loggins & Messina second bill and headliner Rod Stewart & Faces at Anaheim Stadium in late summer 1975...was the first time I'd seen them with Lindsey & Stevie. "Rhiannon" was magical! {moment of silence for those lost arrangements & performances} :(

Lindsey also sang "Rattlesnake Shake" to close the set. I'm still on the hunt for a recording of Lindsey singing that one...they didn't play it very often then...anyone? Bueller?

Loggins and Messina were actually quite cool in 75. I recommend checking out their album "Sittin In".
It's excellent - and you'll get a feel for why the masses turned out for their shows back in the day.

I think the last copy I had was on 8 track.
It probably went to the junk yard in my mother's AMC Pacer.
