Cool stuff I found!

I hadn't seen this article or heard these sound clips from Stevie and Lindsey, so I thought I'd share them. I found this while searching for Lindsey photos. ;)

Thanks Christy!

'Re-interfacing' :confused:
I hope this word doesn't become his new 'cycles'! :laugh:

Interesting article......I didn't know this:

Buckingham is clearly proud of what he brought to "Say You Will." But he sounded peeved that, while the rest of the band went to Hawaii on vacation, he had to remain behind to complete mixing and sequencing the album.

"Well, somebody had to finish the record!" he said. "So that (process) went through a whole series of political spasms and not-very-pleasant phone conversations. But we got there."

The album showcases the most fluid and biting guitar work of Buckingham's career

I knew Buckingham put everything he had into SAY YOU WILL, but I had no idea it was when the rest of the band was screwing off in Hawaii. - 4Buck

Stevie's "younger listeners" sound clip is hilarious!

Wonder how this one slipped through the cracks, thanks for posting it!

>>>>The audio clips also proved that Buckingham was the one who pushed the boundaries on stage, defying some of Fleetwood Mac's managers who wanted the group to do the safest show possible;....... in other words he didn't want to perform a show that challenges the audience at the very least (i.e. just two new tunes for the tour)................. Buckingham wanted to dignify what the SAY YOU WILL album was able to accomplish by performing more new songs from it.

I like him for that.........

Agreed in that he stayed to mix it and the rest of the band went to Hawaii. But, I personally do not think he wanted the rest of the band around when he was doing so. After all, La Nicks is the one who said only LB could have mixed it because only he knew which of the 50 or so guitar parts to bring to the front, etc. :laugh: So, while yes, LB was "stuck" mixing the record, I think it was a labor of love a la a mad scientist (he has the hair :cool: ) working late into the light while lightening strikes all around. :laugh:

Hey, Jason, did you get my b-day party follow-up email?

:wavey:

GardenStateGirlie 01-14-2004 12:20 PM

Of course, on this circa 1998 beast of a Gateway 2000 computer, I can't hear the sound files...the new windows media player won't play em'.

Parts of this article seem familar to me but then again, I think a large portion of the articles from SYW were written prior to them leaving on tour so much of what he says is the same. Can't say I blame him for being pissed :nod:

wondergirl9847 01-14-2004 01:06 PM

LMAO!!

Yeah, that Stevie diner story is hysterical...when she SCREAMS "It's the only place OPEN!!" :lol: She's a nut! :nod:

Hearing her say Avril Lavigne was funny to me...don't know why tho. LOL

I was very proud of Lindsey for saying that too 4Buck about record companies wanting them to "keep it safe" :rolleyes: .

PPPPFFFFFTTTT to the record companies! :mad:

Anyone else notice that journalists can't seem to get the band member's ages right?? I've seen Mick listed at 61 and 55...hmmm

dissention 01-14-2004 02:40 PM

LMAO at Stevie's diner story! She's too much!

Where the hell do these people send fan mail to, though? :confused:

I bet she reads some of the reviews that are on her site, or she is sent them from Mr. Kinney. Plus, when ever it's her Birthday, or Xmas or something like that, there is always a section on her site that allows you to send her greetings, so I'm sure she gets alot of people saying stuff like... "Hi Stevie... I'm 16 years old, I love your music, my mom and dad are big fans......etc.

There's alot of age dropping in the reviews and alot of people say that they've gone with their parents, so she probably draws from that fact. I don't know... Just a thought.

You see a lot of people throw cards onstage at shows, or hand them to Lindsey or someone on the crew.

~~~
Thanks for posting the link Christy! I've seen the article before, but I've never heard the interview clips. Love Stevie's diner story... and how she says sometimes she wants to stop and ask these girls how they know who she is. (Dear Stevie, I'm an 18 year old fan & I'd be happy to sit down and explain it to ya. Let's do lunch? ;))
