If you became a famous rock star, which Fleetwood Mac/Stevie song would you cover, based on your vocal ability?

I'll go first. I pick Alice from TOSOTM.

When I was in a band we covered the Apartment Song and it was a big hit...since it is pretty obscure few people knew it was a cover until our lead singer told them...

We also tried to do Angel, but I didn't want to sing by myself, and our lead singer was male..so we just threw it out.

Other than that we didn't really do covers...

now if I was to be in a band again I think I'd like to cover Second Hand News and I don't want to know...those seem like they'd be fun to play :)

Since I will be famous for my many talents (I'm working on it, folks), I would do a kick-ass version of No Spoken Word. :nod:

In my act, I've only one Mac song so far; Storms (I did it once and segued it into Shiver Me Timbers, they complement each other perfectly). Guitar was the only instrument that accompanied it.

I play in a band, and we do Don't Stop, and GYOW. I mucho prefer GYOW, while the crowd (dancers anyway) mucho prefer Don't Stop.

Stand Back, Thrown Down, No Questions Asked, or Planets of the Universe

Well, I can't sing so that kind of cancels that one out. But I do play keyboards!

So...If I were in a band I think the funnest Mac song to reconstruct would be "Coming Home." That could easily be turned into an epic, psychedelic masterpiece in the right hands, and the same goes for "Brown Eyes" even though that one wouldn't need all that much work besides some major dynamic changes.

As far as just rocking out the crowd I think "Angel" (Stevie's Angel) would be a fun one to play. I love playing simple songs where you can just bash out stupid chords on the piano. :D "Sisters Of The Moon" would also be a fun, killer rocker, and it would be fun turning "Prove Your Love" into a pompous, overdone prog-rock ballad.

I'm a guy. And I think I could do a pretty good version of "Sentimental Lady"... that's the only one which, I think, would fit my vocal range.

Perhaps a Stevie song from the latest era... like "Destiny Rules"... don't really know.

I think that since Stevie has an exeptionally low and raspy voice, her songs can be sung by men or women. At least her songs from the late 80's to the present.

No, I'm currently trying to find a song that suits me and shows off my range as i'm applying to music school and plan to go in September of 04'. They have to have a demo and I am more than happy to oblige :nod:

Hmmm... I do like my takes on GDW, Believe Me, I'm So Afraid (It's actually not half bad), and Oh Daddy. I've recorded myself on my cassette recorder, but the sound quality/instrumentals suck. Badly. The instrumentals most likely suck because in order for the tracks to mix correctly, I have to record the karaoke instrumentals to cassette first... Blah. I need a better tape recorder... Hehe.

The question is: what song have we not covered?

My band has covered Sara, GDW, Gypsy, Stop Dragging my Heart Around, and Insider. I would love to cover SOTM next!
