Mabinogi

Does anyone know what song this book inspired, I know it did... I just don't know which one. And, could anywone give me a few other Stevie inspiration books, and tell me what song was inspired by it.... besides Triad, Rappaccini's Daughter

Funny you should mention that, because the Mabinogi is in the front of my classroom right now for my Honors classes who are studying the theory of the Great Goddess. I begin the unit by playing the song Rhiannon.
As I recall, Stevie read Triad & then wrote the song Rhiannon based on the name; later in her readings of mythology, she stumbled across the Mabinogi & the :"real" Rhiannon.
I know Stevie wrote music for Annabel Lee, which is a poem.
Certainly Alice comes from Through the Looking Glass.
Sable on Blond comes partly from the legend of Excalibur.
I always thought that Lady from the Mountain and Sorcerer came partly from legends of Guinevere who, according to tradition, was pregnant with Arthur's baby but feared Arthur would think it was Lancelot's. Persuading Merlin the sorcerer to cast a spell to the future, she time traveled with her baby, coming down from a mountain in the Welsh hills. Men fell over themselves for her, but she picked one to settle with & raise the baby as his own until one day she fled back to the same mountain, disappearing back to the past, but leaving her baby in the future with a unique destiny to fulfill.
