Requests?

As some of you know, I put up a download page for rare Stevie stuff. I was just wondering if you would like to hear anything in particular in the coming weeks. I'll log each request and do the best that I can to put them up. :D

I'm updating the page today (actually, right at this moment lol), so check back in an hour or so.

I just found your page the other day when the ledge was down and I was wandering around (lol) No requests right now, but just want to say thanks.

Thanks, dissention! You are really putting up some unusual stuff, and that is much appreciated!

One question: What exactly is a "center channel mix"?

tommer 10-19-2003 02:15 PM

wow. you have some really cool stuff there!
but still, at a 64kbps/22khz they become pretty useless, they sound like AM radio. could you please try putting files at a higher bitrate (at least 128kbps)?

You're welcome :D

I believe that Brian (estranged4life) made the center channel mixes and here is the description:

This disc was made from bringing out the center channel on the DVD-A version of "Say You Will". The result is tracks that have vocals with very little background music (or in some cases, none at all) affording an intimate listen to the songs in their simplest form. "Goodbye Baby," for example, sounds completely a capella when rendered this way. You can hear vocal & instrumental nuances that are lost in the regular version. Perfect quality.

I can't at the moment. I have a very slow dial-up connection and it wouldn't be feasible for me at the moment. :) As long as one person is getting enjoyment out of the files, it's not useless, though.

You should check out the Stevie Nicks Chain, tommer! j/k They tore me to shreds and then had the balls to tell me to make sure I only put up stuff that is superb quality. ;) But, of course, they still have no qualms about downloading the files.

Terrific site, Dissention!
Definitely a treasure-trove of great and rare tracks.

I'm not sure if you're using, or are familiar with, MP3Pro, but that's an excellent way to shrink files down, without a major loss in sound quality.

As for requests... hmm... do you have the 7" versions of "Gypsy" or "I Can't Wait"? :D

Thanks for contributing another valuable fan-site to the online community.

I absolutely LOVED the Talk to Me backing vocals demo. If you have anymore like that, I'd love to hear them. I'm constantly singing the harmonies and backing vocals whenever I listen to Stevie so for me it's AWESOME! Do you happen to have one for Rock a Little? IMO, it's Sharon's best backing vocal work...I love that song!

The Chain writing process part 1 is incredible! is he doing a little Everly Brothers type thing there? Lindsey is incredible.

Mmmmmm..sounds good! :)

I have a similar version of Rumours and MAN is it cool! I gained a whole new appreciation for "You Make Loving Fun" (those delicious harmonies at the end) after hearing it.

Thanks, again! :wavey:

I do have the 7" version of "I Can't Wait," Johnny! I'll have to look for "Gypsy." I have so many different versions of "Gypsy" that I don't know what to do with them all. I am definitely going to check out MP3Pro!!

I do have more backup demos, too, Marissa. These are the ones I have:

Love's A Hard Game To Play
Edge of Seventeen
Talk To Me
How Still My Love
Whole Lotta Trouble

I don't have one for RAL, but I have a writing process-like CD of it. It's her and Mick and some others at her house trying to get through RAL and has lots of talk and stuff. I think it's about 26 minutes long. I could break it up, though.

Cool page.
You're keeping a sick man from getting work done.
Now that you're feeling guilty, please add City of Hope, Melacine, and the song Stevie did at the second Stormy Weather benefit. Thanks.:)

Sharing files

Thanks dissention! That's so nice of you to take the time and share these files with other fans. I really enjoyed the alt crystal version from PM you had posted. Loved it.

I'm a big fan of "Rhiannon" and would love to hear anything you'd have of that song that you think is outstanding, whether it's a live version, demo, or alternate mix.

One song you need to post that I think everyone needs to hear is the demo of "Love Is". The vocals and piano are just amazing.

Thanks

Joe

Okay, I'll rip as many of those as I can, guys, and then I'll just leave them to upload while I do my housework. Hopefully I can get them up by tonight or morning. :D

PS: Any requests, Goldie? You know everything I have.
