Silver Springs in '77 (?)

WOW! I downloaded this Silver Springs from somewhere (BN.net perhaps?) recently and am listening to it right now. It's from either 76 or 77 and holy CRAP...this is more intense than the Dance!! She REALLY gets into this esp. towards the end. She is screaming "I loved you...I loved you!!"

Then she says SOMETHING at the end...can't make it out, anyone know? She says it twice, and I cannot figure it out.

LOL! I asked the same thing on the Rumours board right after these were posted! I believe Nancy said she says, "Go ahead and try...go ahead and try"

Nah...she wasn't bitter or anything!

oooh...good stuff....I always forget to check BN.net....that is a pretty intense version...

Those live versions of SS from the 70's are soooo intense!! I love them!

I went to buckinghamnicks.net and couldn't find this. Can anyone give my sorry butt some guidance ?

sparky 09-20-2003 06:43 PM

I guided my own sorry butt to the right place...I must be tired today.

I found it too......I am glad!! That was a version I hadn't heard before! I think there are a few of them out there....

These are really great versions of the song! I wish we had some video to go with the audio - I would love to see how Stevie would have sung it to Lindsey "back in the day".

Can't find it...it it still there?

I do think those two versions that Nancy had up beat The Dance one too. And while they don't have as much details as the gorgeous studio version has, they beat even that one. Stevie's so into it. And so is Lindsey. At the end it seems like her voice and his guitar are having an intense dialogue. If either of these elements was missing, the performances would seriously suffer.

BTW, Nancy had them on her site for a long time, but she's now replaced them with new files.

The version I have is pretty cloudy, Stevie talks at the beginning but I can't hear what she says. It's a piano demo & she wails it out like crazy. At the end some guy says "a wonderful, wonderful job darling." Is this the one you guys are talking about? If not, it'd be great if someone could email it to me. Thanks!

Paula

PS - my verizon account sucks. Use [email protected].

These are the versions of Silver Springs that I have other than the studio or Dance album version:

Rumours Outtake #1
Rumours Outtake #2 (longer version)
Silver Springs Live #1 (1977)
Silver Springs Live #2 (1977)

Just let me know which ones you want, and I can email them!

I am so glad someone else here loves the 1977 (live?) boot of 'Silver Springs' from the 'Uncirculated Rumours' set. Stevie just goes WILD at the end! Imagine how 'Silver Springs' would have sounded on the 'Mirage' tour...or 'Rock A Little' tour! it would have been off the charts in it's intensity, completely into the stratosphere...
