NEW Info About the Masters!

As I posted in my previous thread, many people are interested in trading for the new master reels in strict circulation but no one will trade them. Only an elite few Stevie traders have been allowed access to a library of new master reels, including the following:

-Dial the Number masters
-Don't Treat Me Like A Stranger masters
-Blue Lamp masters
-Bella Donna Outtakes masters
-Edge of Seventeen masters
-Belle Fleur masters
-Baby Doll masters
-Street Angel session masters

A man named "Bill" has contacted the "elite few" and has offered to sell the masters to them. They opted to buy them, obviously disregarding their own rules about never paying money for boots, and have advertised them around for all of us to see. But, unfortunately, that doggy in the window is not for trade. We are supposed to contact "Bill" in order to purchase them for an exorbitant amount of money. If we do not purchase these masters, we will never hear them, pretty much. That sounds like bull, huh?

However, some GREAT traders in the SN/FM community did not purchase them. They traded with their friends for them and ended up receiving some masters that aren't even available to the "elite few." Namely, work tapes and various master reels. The "elite few" doesn't know this and, unfortunately, have been taken for a ride when they could've gotten these masters for free and had a better selection available to them. Oh well, it's their money. Or, should I say, it was their money.

The few true fans who traded for them were contacted by a person with the handle "WELSH WITCH" and told NOT to, under any circumstances, trade the masters. This is incredibly ridiculous behavior and was done in a very mean way. Also, people have been threatened not to trade the masters or they would face being blackballed by the big wig in the trading circles. And, under the noses of the rest of the "elite few," one of them has been contacting many traders outside the group to buy the masters from him/her, not "Bill."

Now, the "elite few" is touting "Bill," advertising for him for free to another select group in order to get others to buy the masters. DO NOY BUY THEM! Just wait a little while and they will be available to all that want them, TRUST ME. I guarantee it. :) Do not pay for bootlegs, do not support other fans thinking they are above others, do not support "Bill" and help him make a profit. Wait just alittle and all will be available.

I have new info forthcoming, so stay tuned, folks! ;)

Awesome news!

Sounds great!! Unfortunately, when I first got into FM, I didn't know anything about traders so I went to Ebay and got some CD's. NEVER AGAIN!!! :distress:

gypsysara 09-16-2003 05:28 PM

I contacted that same Bill person, I was curious to see what he offered. He didnt have that much, but it did seem to me like a LOT of $ to pay for 1 CD. $20 per I think? Especially when each disk is only around 30 minutes or less (tho sometimes more). He said you'd get a break the more you purchased. I passed on it, Id rather not have it then to pay $20 for 15 minutes. He didnt have the time listings on his "list" either. In fact here is his list...

Thanks so much for posting that, Stephanie! I'm glad you passed on it; it is a complete rip-off! :) You'll get the masters soon enough! :D

gypsysara 09-16-2003 05:35 PM

The only one that truly caught my eye was Gypsy anyway! :)

I agree to stay away from eBay as a rule of thumb... some sellers are pimping out poor quality CDs at a hefty price.

I wonder if those are the same as the "remix" (5:02), and the "edit of remix" (4:16), that were available on a promo-only CD-single in 1991.

If so, I hope no one paid $20 for that, when you can often find it on eBay for far less!

Dissention mentioned "Street Angel session masters," but on the list gypsysara posted, I only see "Maybe Love" from the 'Street Angel' era... were there any others that don't happen to be on the second list?

Selection 10) also has "Jane" and "Unconditional Love" along with "Maybe Love". I don't know if that's enough material from SA to constitute a "session master" though :)

sarabelladonna1 09-17-2003 07:02 AM

I would love to know where every one is getting there info from? because none of you have shown any proof of any of this ...As far as any one can see you dont know what your talking about..Your only repeating things you heard..So untill you show some proof I think you should just leave well enough alone ;)

I would classify that one as a session master. :)

It's labeled as "Slave Reel," was produced by Roy Bitten, and is dated June 13, 1993. :)

However, there is also a master reel circulating titled "Street Angel Session Master," but I've only heard of it and what songs are on it. Here is what I know it contains:

-Unconditional Love
-If You Were My Love (the one you don't like, Johnny! )
-Blue Denim, 4 takes, 2 false starts
-Love Is Like A River, 2 takes
-Kick It
-Jane, 3 takes
-Greta, 2 takes, 4 false starts
-Joan Of Arc

I would die to get my hands on it, but I've only been told about it and if anyone has it, they certainly won't trade it and I won't pay money for anything bootlegged. :D I don't know the date of the master or any specifics other than what I was emailed, which I posted above. I don't even know if Joan Of Arc was worked on during the SA sessions or if it's just an old outtake that made it onto the master.

But, this just solidifies everything. There is a wealth of wonderful stuff that we can't hear unless we are in the elite group and have money to blow. It's outrageous.

PS: I've also heard that the seller is selling boots of the SYW tour. $25 for DVDs and $15 for videos. Any justification for selling the masters has gone out the window now; he's just another "fan" trying to make money off of the Mac's back.

Would you like Bill's email addy and copies of his emails? Cripes, I can even give his Paypal user name. I'm not going to go to great lengths to convince you of anything, I could care less what you think. That is, unless you were one of those who were solicited to buy the masters and was taken for a ride...

Other traders that aren't in his circle know about him, if they want to speak up, they will.

Uh, Im not interested in "proving" stuff to someone I dont even know... and besides, this is cyberspace sarabelladonna1, I really couldnt give a rats *ss what anyone thinks of me. If you want to say "I dont know what Im talking about" well that's your perogative. I know I did email this "Bill" person and he did send me the list I posted above in a Word document. So after that being said, I couldnt care what you, or anyone else here thinks.

dissention 09-17-2003 11:28 AM

I think the point of all of this is that those who paid for the masters at $20 a pop were taken for a ride.

They quickly snatched them up for expensive amounts and waved them around in front of others, while they were slowly circulating amongst TRADERS, not buyers. Not only were they beginning to circulate amongst TRADERS, but a more varied selection of masters was circulating. Work tapes, unmixed album tracks from Fleetwood Mac, Buckingham Nicks masters, THE WORKS. "Bill" doesn't have a lot of the stuff that is coming out. Now, I bet the buyers want these masters that "Bill" doesn't offer and want to trade for them. Now that's funny.

I just feel bad for those who paid for what they could've gotten for free. Just goes to show that nice guys finish last...but end up with the better stash! :D

I have no idea how I missed those two, Hippocampus... I feel like a fool!

Thank you for pointing them out to me. :wavey:

I would love to get my hands on master copies of any and all 'Street Angel' era stuff.

I'll just pretend I never heard that version of "If You Were My Love!" ;)

Me too! I hated the album, but the outtakes and stuff from that era are among my faves in my collection. Go figure!
