I cannot figure out for the life of me why tourbooks were 40 bucks in Atlanta, and now they are 20 lol....they were 20 in Knoxville too!

Maybe they were trying to figure out just how much the fans would be willing to shell out for the tourbooks in Atlanta, sort of a test marketing price or something. Who's doing the merchandising for this tour anyway? Does anyone know?

Here's what I think happens: You've got a band that are multi-millionaires. Their agents/managers are multi-millionaires. The merchandising folks are loaded too. And of course, all the assorted hanger-ons, family members, entourage, etc., are not exactly minimum wage folks either. So to them, $200 for a ticket seems reasonable. So does $30 for a t-shirt and $20-40 for a tour book. They just don't understand that to the average person out there, this is a LOT of money.

I'll give you a little illustration. I was in NYC recently on a business trip. My co-workers and I were looking for somewhere to grab a quick bite for lunch. One of my co-workers and I are both in our late thirties, the other two in their early twenties. We older folks found a place we thought would be great. The going rate for lunch was about $15 each, which for me, in NYC, was a pretty darn good deal. The younger girls freaked. They thought that the hot dogs the sidewalk vendors were selling for a couple of bucks was the way to go. The difference here between us? The 30-somethings make about twice as much as the 20-somethings; what was reasonable to us was expensive to the them. It gave me a good lesson in economic perspective.

Yeah I understand all that, I just wish I would've waited till Knoxville to buy a tour book..

Chris, if I were you, I'd be mad as hell right now. For what you paid, you could have gotten 2 tourbooks at any other stop along the way where the tourbooks were actually for sale, that is. It sucks that you were at a concert where they decided to "test market" the $40 price tag.

Yeah oh well tho right? I mean what can I do now? Lol...i am pretty pissed tho...luckily the show made up for it

Well, look at it this way Chris. You have your concert experience and you have a tourbook, even if you did pay out the butt for it! And you know, in time, that tourbook will probably be worth much more than you paid for it, even though I'm sure you're like me and would refuse to part with it under almost any circumstance.

Im thinking about buying another...lol..since they are at a reasonable price at the online store...just to have 2...in case
