Soundstage: Spoke With Management

I have spoken with East End Management today and confirmed that the 84 tickets that are being made available to the fan club are being provided by East End Management on Lindsey's behalf. These are being made available to the fan club because of recent events, and are an effort by Lindsey and his management to recognize the fan club. I can tell you that Jonathan Todd had absolutely NOTHING to do with this offering to us and that the only reason that the email came to us from him is that it was made available to the fan club, of which he is affiliated.

NO one needs to be concerned about providing your information to enter this contest as no one from the fan club will see or handle this information. It is going directly to PBS for the drawing. Also, these seats have nothing to do with the lottery.

No one owes a thank you to the fan club for this contest. This is all for us by Lindsey and management. They are who we owe our thanks to.

Thank you East End and Lindsey for caring about us and what we have been through. :wavey: :wavey:

Oh, and one other thing. Any fan club member who has purchased tickets and wins this drawing will have the cost of their ticket reimbursed to them, and then East End will make the reimbursed ticket available to the fan club as well. So, it is a win win situation. The lottery seating seats were appointed before this drawing and are not affected in any regard by these seats.

You ROCK, Jan!!! :D

This is fabulous news and I admire Lindsey even more than before; he's a true class act and he picked a real winner of a management company to represent him! Thanks to Lindsey and East End (Tony)!

Now, if only we could find good things to say about Stevie's management. ;) They're just as schmucky as JT.

CarneVaca 09-08-2003 01:18 PM

And so the only band member who's done anything decent for the fans as of late is Lindsey.

That makes sense.

Thank you, seek! I already believed this without confirmation, but if you've personally checked it out, I know it's 100% truth. Everything you've said and done about this fan club fiasco has turned out to be right on. You've taken a lot of abuse for advocating on behalf of fans who've been wronged by JT and his helpers. I appreciate everything the movers and shakers, (or as Pix says, the 5-7 who don't like him) have done to get the band's attention. All of you are great fans who care. You rock!

No matter what your overall opinion of the fan club is, if you agree that speaking out about the failings of the club was worth some of the unfortunate nastiness that's gone down, please respond to this thread with a "thank you" to those fans who went the extra mile to bring needed attention to the issue. Many fans have remained silent and nameless on this, but if you've follwed the saga closely, you know a lot of effort and hard work has been done by a few for the benefit of all fans. Please don't thank the fan club for any current, or future benefits. It's the fans themselves who worked to get the club to provide something of value in return for the pricey membership fees.

We also owe great thanks to Marty, Sara, Tracy, Pip, (and others I know I'm forgetting) for putting their names and fan sites out there behind the efforts to speak out against the questionable operating practices of that other site and the fan club. I've never been a frequent visitor to fan sites but I plan to support them more as a result of this issue. I know the fan sites are more open to free expression, supportive of differing views, and have more accurate and timely information than that other site. Even though I quit the club and got my money back a long time ago, I'm happy for those still in it that you're finally getting something for your money.

Thank you to all who got involved.

Finally, thank you Lindsey and Tony!!! We love you!!! :wavey:

Yes and that is really unfortunate. I do think that the admins were duped by this too. But, the admins need to know as well that JT can take absolutely NO credit for this bonus to the fan club. Seems as if they posted again once this was announced and changed the way that they worded it, but, only said "management". This is not just management, but, Lindseys and on behalf of Lindsey. Lindsey wanted this for us. Not the other mgrs. They need to wake up and smell the coffee. And this is NOT heresay as someone on Micks site noted. I spoke with them and this is the deal. East End is a stand up group of ppl. Remember, they manage Tom Petty as well and he is ALL about the fans.

I guess he figured after making us wait a decade for some new music, it was about time he threw us a bone!

Seriously though, this is a really terrific gesture, and hopefully the first sign that some changes will be made, to make the fanclub more fan friendly. :)

gypsysara 09-08-2003 01:46 PM

Well that is great to hear! Thanks Seek!

Also, I spoke with someone in Chicago at PBS about this earlier this morning. I asked about the sale of tickets and whether or not there were any good seats left. The woman I spoke with said yes. Then I asked her about the 80 tickets that had been cordoned off and she told me that they were paid for. So, Lindsey and his management didn't request the tickets for free, they actually bought them. I thought that was incredibly thoughtful, seeing a how the proceeds from the concert benefit PBS.

Have you had any luck talking with them, Goldie?

PS: If anyone needs the number to call, just let me know!

Thank you Jan for checking this out. Thanks dissention for calling. I did call and got the customer service rep (Dina) who feigned ignorance about the fan club seats. She also said it has been sold out since last Tuesday. The silver circle seats are according to what she told me, first come first served in rows one through seven. The rest are general admission. This is a very nice thing for Lindsey and his management to do. It is definitely a step in the right direction. I can think of a few others. :)
