Shine Club show with Stevie and Sheryl

I just got this in the mail today and all I can say is wow! Sheryl puts on an awesome show, truly great. Anyways, the thing I find even more awesome is Stevie's set of four songs!

She does Too Far From Texxxxxxxxxxxxaaaaassssss, Leather and Lace, it's Only Love, and Stop Draggin'. It's like she doesn't know the words and just pulls the lyrics out of her arms. Take Stop Draggin' for instance:

You come knockin' on my front door
Same old thing you used to do before
I said, "I can't get it on time,
What can you do to make me survive?"

Yeah, you bukle with the weight of the word
You say you're keeping some demon down

There's people runnin round loose in the world
They ain't got nothing better to do
They make a meal of some bright eyed girl
You need someone to take care of you

I know you really wanna be your own girl
I know you really wanna tell me goodbye

There's people runnin round loose in the world
They ain't got nothing better to do
They make a meal of some bright eyed girl
I think you need someone to take care of you
I know you really wanna be your own girl
I know you really wanna take your own way

Look me in the eye
You Buckle with the weight of the world
STOP!
STOP!
STOP!
You...STOP!
AH!
You...STOP!
STOP!
STOP!

And it's not just that song, she does it on every other one, too! LMAO

PS: Thanks, Goldie!

I also love it when Stevie says about Sheryl "She's making me do this." Yeah right.

Oh boy, Stevie sure did have a case of the nerves that night!
Most likely because she was outside of her comfort zone, and doing songs that she had never done before, or hadn't done in a million years.
Anyone who tries to sing along with these particular versions, is NOT going to have an easy time!

Still, it seems like she's having a great old time, and she sounds absolutely amazing on Sheryl's "The Difficult Kind," doesn't she?

It really is a fun show. She sounds like she's having a good old time up there.

Anyone who tries to sing along with Stevie is having a hard time, period. She always changes the lyrics, I personally dig that. It's one of her many charms.

I think perhaps Stevie had had a few cocktails or puffs and more power to her in my book for it as she sounds like she is having a good time  This was a great recording in my book.

Also, I had to hear it via a friend because about a year ago I sent someone on The Ledge a copy of a VHS from the 70's in a trade for the Shine disc. I never got the Shine concert and cannot remember who I sent the VHS to  If you are out there, please send the Shine concert

She sounded awesome on The Difficult Kind, but she made me wince with her vocal on Stop Draggin'. It was mucho bad. I think she had a few shots of tequila.

It's funny when Sheryl introduces Kid Rock as Neil Diamond.

The whole "cancelled all the light" thing on It's Only Love got on my nerves. Did she forget to pay her electricity bill?

And I always thought she souned HORRENDOUS on Difficult Kind. The harmonies were way off. She said something like "I knew this song a year and a half ago" referring to the 2000 AHI benefit...where I thought it sounded great. But this one certainly wasn't the greatest.

I LOOOOVE this show! I listen to it in my car, a LOT! I love how Kid Rock keeps mentioning Stevie, like in that president song - "My first ladies would be Sheryl Crow and Ms. Stevie Nicks..." or whatever....

You know, Sheryl, her entire band, Stevie and Kid Rock ALL sound tipsy and/or under the influence of something, but that's what makes this show so charming, imo. Unrehearsed, raw, just a bunch of people jamming together, having fun. And Black Betty is one of the all-time great rocking songs, EVER!

Stop Draggin' is friggin' hysterical - how Stevie kinda stutters the "you......ssssssssssSTOP!" Hee!
