Running Through the Garden: Live

I've been listening to the live version of this constantly and am completely enamoured with it. I think this song REALLY comes to life live; it's amazing. I love the ending, too. On the album, it just faded out with the "For the love I have..." but it keeps going live until a very abrupt ending; I love it. I can understand why they dropped it (it must be very vocally challenging to Stevie), but I wish they had kept it in longer. At least until the show before ChiliD's show.

Awwww...c'mon. :)

If the live version had the impact of "Come", my opinion of the song may have changed, had they played it. I would've liked to have heard MORE Say You Will tunes and a couple of less Rumours ones, as well.

I think they should have given it a fighting chance - rather than dropping it after just one show....

I want it back! NOW! Its my favorite song on the album!!!!! I was at the like 6th show or whatever and it was already gone. I want it back! I wish I could tell them to put it back on, but I don't know what I would want it to replace....oh yeah, SYW.

I totally agree. I would gladly sacrifice a couple old songs to hear RTTG, Destiny Rules, Everybody Finds Out, Miranda, Steal Your Heart Away, or above all, THROWN DOWN. :) I *love* the RTTG bootleg I have. I'm crossing my fingers that during the 2nd leg we'll see some changes in the line up.

No joke!!

They need to drop Dreams, Rhiannon and Gypsy and replace them with some more SYW tunes or at LEAST some obsure, never been played before tunes, like Monday Morning, ANY of LB's or SN's Tusk tunes, Straight Back and Tango in the Night.

My thoughts exactly

After listening to the mp3 of RTTG live, I can't figure out why they would have dropped it (okay, maybe it was hard on Stevie, but c'mon!!) This is one of my favorite songs on the album and the one that I listened to over and over and over the first few days I had it...I know, it's 80s, but I love it anyway!!:D
I also agree that they could definitely drop an old song or two in exchange for something off SYW. I mean, for the love, do we really need to hear Dreams anymore? I just don't know why that ALWAYS has to be included at every Stevie/Mac concert. I would have loved to hear Miranda, Thrown Down and Everybody Finds Out.

But over all...I can't complain, I think the show is fantastic (even as is)

Erin

Yeah, but they'll never do that. I'd like her to do Rhiannon the way she did on the F.M. Live album but again, pipe dreams...

I say bring back SOTM. Now that's a powerhouse, especially with Stevie's deep "muscular" vocals these days, which would add a whole new dimension to the song.

I too would love to RTTG. However since I am going to my first Mac Concert in Toronto what ever they play for me will be new to me(even if I have heard the song countless times throgh the albums or Vhs Cncerts I have)The songs I wish they would perform would be Seven Wonders and Storms. Oh and Sara

Totally agree!

These are the 3 Stevie songs I'd like to see the most, especially the latter two, which are my favourite two SN songs.

I think originally, the problem was lack of rehearsal time. Watching the DC tape of Destiny Rules, Stevie and Lindsey both look like they are struggling to get it right. Hard to do when you're trying to throw all that intensity into it at the same time.

But after all this time, since the tour started in May, I would think they'd have had plenty of time to work on some of the new songs. I'm mean, why does Dreams have to be on the soundcheck. Couldn't one of the new songs be used as part of the sound check and thereby rehearsed at the same time? Kind of like killing two birds with one stone?

I dunno.
