Who here likes the Tusk album??
 

It's still my all time fave. I was listening to it again the other day. There's not a dud on there.:D

I truly like Tusk and listen to it often. Having said that, I think as brilliant as LB was in producing it, it just didn't fit in with my view of FM. But, that very reason is why so many love it. Again, I really like it, just not as much as other FM records I feel are more cohesive if you will.

I have to disagree. There is one song on there I think is the worst Mac song. "It's not that funny". That song just grates on me. Repetitive and screachy. But, to each their own....

I love Tusk, and I love "Not That Funny." I think it's still my favorite Mac album.

Tusk is, and always was my favorite Mac album.

And it sold what...4 million? when it came out.

That's still quite a bit, even by today's standards. Just shows how...massive Rumours was though.

Tusk = F in BRILLIANT

I LOVE Tusk, although I didn't when it first came out. Along with Mystery To Me, those are my 2 favorite Fleetwood Mac albums.

Tusk was probably considered 'alternative' in it's day....and it was a 'very intense' album...I wouldn't go so far as to say there are 'no duds' on the album...but that's just my 2 pennies.

Obviously Lindsey had some very artistic ideas that he wanted to put forth on this album....and many consider it 'his' album...not that there is anything wrong with that, but like strandinthewind said...this one isn't as 'cohesive' as Rumours or even Mirage to an extent...You really had 3 songwriters wanting to go in 3 different directions and Lindsey had the difficult task of trying to make it all flow as one....which is why it sounds like it's 'all over the map' so to speak.

Christine was doing the 'classic Mac' sounds with songs like Think About Me, Honey Hi and Brown Eyes (which I love)

Stevie was pretty much envisioning her solo career at this point, this was the Bella Donna being born...and listening to it in hindsight...it's incredible...knowing what was about to come.

Lindsey again, was listening to the Clash and Talking Heads and trying to be more 'punk' or 'alternative' for the changing times, but I don't think the Mac was quite made for that...One of the things that make this band so unique IS the different styles of the 3 songwriters and 5 musicians and making it all fit as one.

Tusk is my all time favorite album by anyone, ever! I think that it's just as good or better than Rumours (though Rumours is greatness too). Everyone has their own tastes, but I can't really find any big flaws in this album.

tusk is definetly my favorite album of all time... right behind is the dance... every song on here is great... I was in awe when I first listened to it.. if tusk was released today I think it would be a hit... anyone else?

Some of us at the Phoenix show talked about how the only problem with Tusk is that some of the better songs by Chris and especially Lindsey are too short. With Lindsey, this goes back to the BN album, where I think Without a Leg to Stand On is too short for such a good song. On Tusk he has several that are catchy but stop too soon.

Tusk is definitely my favorite Fleetwood Mac studio album. Not for it's cohesiveness as an album, because to me, it doesn't have that, it has always had the feel of three different records. But I think the songs on Tusk are some of the best the band has ever done and particularly Stevie's songs, IMO are among the very best she's ever written. The harmonizing on Tusk blows me away every time I listen to it too...particularly on "Honey Hi," a song I otherwise wouldn't care much for, just amazing harmony by our three wonderful singers.

Yes! I just mentioned this song under the Tango post. I love the way the three voices work together even though each one does its own distinct thing at the end.
