Talk about being clueless!

This crap from yesterday's Seattle Times:

"Fleetwood Mac's latest CD, "Say You Will," is a stiff, but nobody will be going to White River tomorrow to hear new songs. It's the classics they want, and the band has been delivering on its current comeback tour.

Keyboardist Christine McVie has retired and is not along, but John McVie, Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood and Lindsey Buckingham are joined by two guitarists, a keyboardist, a percussionist and two backup singers, so they have her parts covered.

It's the last date of the tour.

This guy's friggin' clueless. First off, to simply call SYW "a stiff" without any analysis or explanation is a cop-out.

Second, anyone who has attended one concert would know that the new songs, for the most part, have been big crowd pleasers. So saying that no one would "be going to White River to hear new songs" is ridiculous.

Third, it isn't even close to the last date of the tour.

I've been seeing a lot of this lazy entertainment reporting lately. Who are these guys? Someone in an earlier thread lamented the dirth of good music reporting, and I have to agree.

Just venting, folks. But a few e-mails to this clown might be in order.

At least the part about Christine is correct, but who's gonna tell this fool there are two percussionists back there? (Maybe he took Mick's SECRET weapon line literally.)

Well that is sad but I can kind of understand where these bonehead reviewers are coming from. The first time I listened to SYW, I was not sure I liked it. It was different to me. But after listening to it a few more times my opinion changed. Then I became addicted to it...the darn CD never left my CD player.
I think if they listened more then once...I know we would get better reviews.

I thought the new songs were really well received. If I was just a general fan, like most that go to the concerts are, I think I would like the new stuff. I think all of them are really catchy and/or beautiful. I think the crowd at Auburn really appreciated the new stuff.

I was kind of pissed off at the concert when 95% of the crowd would stand up for all the old songs and sit down for the "Say You Will" songs... I guess they have to sit sometime... but heck I stood up during the entire concert... supporting the new songs... because I think they are great!...
