I'm gonna try, no matter what. If it works I might have some great shots, if it doesn't tough luck. But is't worth a try, I think.

If the venue you'll be going to is really tough on cameras, the best place to hide it is (forgive me!) your crotch! Even if they pat you down, they're not allowed to touch you there so it works great! Good luck!:)

LOL! This had me laughing as I also thought this might be the next option. Luckily I placed mine at the bottom of my purse and chose a man ahead of time who I noticed did not really look way in..plus I had control of the purse the whole time.
Definitly worth it to try for pics....there are some great pics out there that fellow ledgies got. Mine from the 5th row sadly did not come out that well with my disposible though. :(

My husband was sent back when he was caught with our digital camera at the Meadowlands show, but he passed it off to our daughter who was barely patted at all, thank goodness!

For past Stevie shows I've stuck the camera in the middle of my bra - much easier to get it back out than the crotch system!

I took a digi camera and binoculars that had a digi camera in them into the Phoenix show and he just did a precursory glimpse into my huge bag. I had the camera zipped into the side compartment of the bag and I had the binoculars in their case in the purse and he did not see either one. I was too far back for decent camera pics and I filled the binocular digi camera up, which is usually about 85-100 shots, but, they were lost and I did not get to see them. I am totally bummed out.

I have heard of some ppl putting the camera in like a tampax box, or something that the searcher is unlikely to ask you to empty. We went in after it was starting so that may be why we were whisked through and I had a really hard time opening my bag, so that may have been why he did not take a long time looking...so, put the camera in something that they won't look in, act like your hands don't work when you are trying to get into the bag and go late..hahahaha:laugh:

I used the tampax box trick... and it worked!

What I heard is that they escort you to another area and check your camera in, and then you can get it after the show. I don't think that they keep it....anyone else know? I took my digital in.

I took a disposable (and have yet to see the results! ) just to be on the safe side, but I'm pretty sure they won't take your camera-- they'll most likely confiscate your film, though. I think Jan's right when she says they can't keep your camera. I've never heard of it happening, at least.

Another fan that I know put her camera between her legs and when the metal detector went off, she said, "yeah, I am pierced" and they let her through...ahaha.. She is a smart cookie. They are not gonna make you drop your pants to prove that there is not a camera there.

camera

got one in, put it in my jacket pocket with kleenex over it, explains bulge, plus I look about 16 so with my dad giving them the bad eye, me asking where the bathroom was in a rather desperate voice, and quickly opening my bag they didn't even pat me down, in Oakland no less!

EveryHour 07-29-2003 01:06 AM

These replies are all hilarious!!! It's amazing how clever people can be in these desperate situations! It seems that as long as you stick to private parts/matters, you're good to go!:p

In Philly, I put my disposable camera down my jeans (half down them) on my left-hand side & had a loose shirt over that. I had a little, black purse with me, & security half looked in it. I used my flash, but I was 16 rows back, so my pics didn't turn out so good, but I was afraid to bring my 35 mm camera.

So I'd say go for smuggling one in, but maybe a disposable one just in case you get caught.

Good luck! :wavey:
