Ledge Icon List

Okay lets do a list of the top 200 icons Ledgies feel should really be on there. I will list just a few of the ones I would like to see on the list.
(not particular order - except for Stevie as number one - hehe)

1. Stevie (of course she is number one)
2. Lucy Lawless (Okay I like Xena)
3. Katherine Hepburn (Spunky is always good)
4. Jane Seymour (The Miniseries queen and Dr Quinn)

and the following everyone can agree on. (I would think anyway)

5. Elvis
6. Marlynn Monroe
7. John Lennon

Any others? (sorry I just can't see Oprah as the number one icon as is on the vh1 list)

Some more people to add to the list:
Larry King ( I love Larry)
Elizabeth Taylor (Oh, the drama of it all!)
The Gabor sisters and all of their husbands and jewelry, same for Liz.
Andy Warhol
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
The Dalai Lama

Stevie or Fleetwood Mac really should have been one of the VH1 200 icons. Here's some more people that you can add...

Elton John
Sean Connery
The Blues Brothers (Akroyd and Belushi)
LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM
Dana Carvey
Walter Cronkite(sp?)
The Who
Peter Sellars
Pink Floyd
Frank Sinatra
George Carlin
George W. Bush
Peter Jennings
Alex Trebeck
Vana White
Tom Petty
Eric Clapton

I could go on forever, but I'll stop myself there for now.

Re: Oprah

I have to disagree about Oprah. I personally wouldn't place her as #1, but she certainly is up there.

Forget about how rich she is. What Oprah does is reach millions of every day people about issues in their every day lives. She no longer does much of the celebrity guest stuff. I'd say 4 out of 5 shows is about how to get through our lives, know you're not alone with a problem, inspire people to do more with their lives. Just look at how many Americans she got to pick up a book and read! God bless her for that alone.

You have a point about Oprah. But I can't stand her. Have you ever seen an interivew with her? She believes she's on some preordained mission from God to save the planet. Her ego is huge. It killed me when she went out on that lecture tour preaching that people could be just like her with ticket prices starting at $165. That's when she lost me. I think she's treading a fine line, not unlike a lot of organized religions do when they say "Sure, we'll help you get through life, now donate ten percent of your earnings to us and live your life on our terms." JMHO.
