record store promos...
 

So today I was walking by a music store in Decatur called Discover Music and saw a Fleetwood Mac poster in the window. I've read alot of everyone's stories about getting rare promo stuff from record stores so on a whim I decided to go in and ask the salesperson if I could buy it or have it when they were done. Well, he told me I could buy it for $20 right then :D

Now, this isn't a regular thin-paper poster. It is made out of a glossy vinyl-like material (its very thick) and is the kind that has the rings at the top and the bottom that little wooden tubes go in and has string on the top to hang it with. One side has the picture of the band standing in front of that fountain and the other side is the album cover photo. It's pretty big...2ft by 3ft.

Anyway, its really awesome and I was wondering if anyone else knows what particular poster I'm talking about..(the guy said it was a record company promo and they only send 1 to each record store) and what exactly is it made out of?

Anyone else wanna share there record-store find stories?

I have that same exact poster but not really ;) Same kind, that thick vinyl...but it's of the band in front of the wall with Lindsey's two fingers in his other hand and on the other side it's the SYW cover shoot. It proclaims the album release and Peacekeeper....but I walked into my fave indie record store here in Buffalo and they gave me an extra they had in the back for free. I also got one of those lithograph poster things for free....they gave them out when the album went on sale. I hadn't gotten the album there though but I still got the litho!

Yep, that's exactly what I got Sally. I thought that was a fountain there...maybe not. That is great that they gave it to you for free....I thought it was kind of questionable selling something for $20 that they got for free..but then again they were still using it for promotional use in the store...it was displayed very prominently out of the window facing the street. It if was just sitting in the back, I wouldn't have expected to pay for it. It's really nice isn't it? I love it because its very easy to transport unlike normal posters....its hard to get those suckers down without tearing or creasing them!

So, any related stories???
