New York Shows

I know tickets and venue haven't been announced yet BUT is anyone planning on hitting the New York shows when they come back in September?

strandinthewind 07-17-2003 03:59 PM

I probably will hit one, probably the first one. How about you?

RobNYC 07-17-2003 04:00 PM

Probably the first one too.

I'm hoping it's MSG as I work near there.

I know, my friends live on 49th btw 7th and 8th. So, MSG is not too far at all from their place. I wonder if they can fill it twice. I am sure they can, after all it is NYC for goodness sake!!!!!!

I'll let you know if i can make it. Maybe we can hook up before the show, etc.

Absolutely! And I doubt if I'll get in without my 11 year old in tow as well - she's weasling her way into Giants Stadium with me tomorrow night for Bruce as well - kid's got damn good taste in music!

both New York shows say, (CITY TO BE ANOUNCED) so it could be any city in the state of New York. And that first New York date looks like it could be a Bufalo or Rochester date. Here's hoping:) :wavey:

Out of those two, I'd have to guess Rochester - they played both cities for the Dance tour, didn't they? (And I didn't go either time. Where's the beat-your-head-against-a-wall smilie when I need it?)

But hey, I'd settle for Olean..... ;)

RobNYC 07-18-2003 10:52 AM

Damn! I would hope it would be NYC!!!!

rhiannon1119 07-18-2003 11:36 AM

I will absolutely be at the second show.. because I too think that the first one could possibly be upstate and not directly in the city. It is gonna be so incredible to see them again.. especially if it is at MSG!

I will probably hit one of the NY shows, most likely NYC.

we should organize a pre-show get-together if it's in the city!!!

Work permitting, I will be at the 9/21 The Garden show. Let's try to hook up somewhere before!!!!!!

Let me just tell you, no beer at Jones Beach is a horrible thing - they ought to be flogged for that

I mean it is a horrible realization when you get smashed on the way there and realize it is diet coke city for the next two hours. Thank goodness I had my boot flask and some rather fun "sensible gals" were smoking pot next to me and I was downwind!!!! I remember going, I haven't been baked since the 80's . . . "Everything is so GREEN man . . . ." Also, I was there with my good friend who is a psychologist/actor in NYC. I remember at some point we solved all of my inner and unknown problems and the problems of the world and Stevie's lighting during a chorus of Bombay Sapphires  Usually, we have therapy over cosmos, but apparently the downwind breeze was a major door opening and a breakthrough in my self-evaluation!!!!

personally, I'm glad there will be no beer. At the Meadowlands concert, there were three girls drinking heavily behind my husband and I. And one girl had her beers precariously perched directly above my hubby's head everytime he was seated. I stood for almost every song but my hubby is a sit down guy. Thank god, she didn't spill any on my hubby's head. All I kept thinking was "if she spills this beer on John's head, I'll never get to go to another FM concert again!!"

it was the only dark cloud in an otherwise perfect FM experience so with that, I have now completely changed my opinion about alcohol at public functions...no!!!

anyway, it looks like I'll be in Ireland for the Sept 21st date but I will be going to the Sept 30th whereever in NY, FM may be!!
