San Jose, CA - 7/8

I wanted to share my thoughts on the San Jose show.

It's always nice when Stevie or Mac comes to visit...they always talk about the area and their ties to it. Of course, they always say the same thing... I think I have Stevie's speech practically memorized. But I still got the same fuzzies when they mentioned specific cities in the area. Stevie said she and Lindsey really didn't want to leave the area back in the 70s, but since the record deals were in LA, they just had to go.

The show was rockin' ! It was indeed the Lindsey show as some have mentioned, but I didn't mind. He's clearly having a blast on this tour. Seeing him play guitar on stage is just wild and you can't help to stare at him in awe...from the erratic shuffling of his feet to the veins about to burst from his neck and all that sweat flying off his head and splattering all over the Lindsey girls in the front row! The playful head butts were back tonight as well... He did it quite a few times with John and later with Stevie, early on in a song I can't recall now and during Tusk. Stevie and John didn't seem too amused by this, but indulged his antics. They kind of had that "OOOK Lindsey" look.

Stevie's voice was strong as ever and she threw in a few good wails on Rhiannon, a respectable attempt to bring back some much needed fire to these performances. When did she change dresses? This one looked completely different from the one at earlier shows; I may be behind on this. It didn't have those strange buttons down the front. The boot came off midway again and then returned towards the end of the set.

The song I enjoyed most was Beautiful Child because it was a new performance for me. Don't you just love it when she whispers at the end "I do...Yes I do wish you were mine." Nice. I love the quality of voice in those whispers, similarly found on her backups during Never Going Back Again.

Landslide was dedicated to us Bay Area folks and Goodbye Baby was sung for someone named "Scott."

Stand Back was probably Stevie's favorite song of the night... I've never seen her spin this much, granted it was a controlled spin...you can only do so much on those platform Reeboks without falling over. But the song really did seem to electrify her tonight. Even caught Lindsey mouthing the words a few times at the side of the stage.

Anyone know if there are any special guests planned for the LA shows?

Daniel~

I'm glad you had fun! Sounds like a great show as always~ it must have been nice for them to go back *home*, to where it all started [at least for Stevie/Lindsey]- thanks for the review!

Thanks for the review, Daniel!

I wonder if any of the California shows will be filmed.
Here's to hoping! :)

I love when Stevie does that whispering thing...and I love how she holds the "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel" right before "I wish that you were mine...." in Beautiful Child. Goosebumps!

Sacramento was videotaped...I don't have it yet. And the audio for San Jose was recorded. Video will probably pop up soon for San Jose, as there is a regular video taper in the area.
