'Slow Down' is fun... Are these 'obscurities' and plus a couple of outtakes, then? It seems to be mostly 'In The Meantime' to me.
|
Thanks for posting. Wow a lost track from 1985!!!!!
I love the album In The Meantime but I think Sweet Revenge is the weakest song but it made this album. Should have been You Are or Calummy instead. |
Is "Slow Down" an outtake from the Christine McVie album? The snippet I heard on ITunes sounds good!

I thought she said the songs would be radically different than their original versions. This, and the fact that the album has its own producer, suggests new takes on old songs. Are these new versions? Or is this just a half-baked greatest hits from two albums plus two previously-unreleased songs? I'm not getting what's happening or not happening.
Edit: Okay, I see that Johns is remastering the old stuff and has re-arranged "Songbird" with the original vocals in tact. Given the underwhelming song selection (there were plenty of songs to use instead of "Easy Come Easy Go" and "Sweet Revenge") and the absence of any new material, save two unreleased tunes, I'm officially disappointed. |

Did she have one further throw-away obligation on an old recording contract? |
This actually makes sense to me given that any of the original Rumours recordings would require multiple entities to sign off on. Looks like she got the ok for Songbird (vocals only?) but the rest is a way to cash in on other bits of her catalog that don't require FM agreement... and with her having sold her publishing rights seems like she might have to get permission from whoever the new owner of the rights is to use any of them...? Were any of her post-FM solo songs sold as part of her publishing rights?? Seems like maybe not and that those are the only songs she still has full rights to use?
