Perhaps, they have some plans to make some music. BuckFleetwood.

My takeaway from this is that Mick returned his texts and emails. Not in Winter/Spring 2018 but maybe since 2020.

Lindsey says he and Mick were in communication before Peter Green passed away.

It seems like the only communication he had with Chris was an email from her in 2018 saying "I had nothing to do with this/I bought a house." And John was an email saying "I'm not supposed to be talking with you."

Stevie is a small person so she didn't return any outreach he made.

Even though Lindsey said Mick was weak when he was fired, he still said "Mick is a great guy."

I really don't get his praise for Mick. I've always thought that he loved Mick, but not in this fawning way. More in a tolerant way because he knows that Mick has gone out on a limb for him against the other bandmates in the past and Mick has some good traits, even though he's a very trying, flawed, greedy fellow. Now, he's being delusional about Mick almost, which means Lindsey is senile or ... he wants something.

Maybe his wife has hired a top notch divorce lawyer..

I'm having a really hard time reading it too. Is the text posted somewhere?

I’ve always wondered what’s at the root of that love affair. It dates from the late ’70s. I think it’s been primarily a mutual musical admiration society. Lindsey digs Mick’s eclecticism. When Mick isn’t wallowing in crass commercialism, he’s really quite an inventive, risk-taking fellow with his music. Look at the breadth of his solo projects; he’s all over the map with great stuff. Plus, onstage Mick has a voracious, Iggy Pop-like appetite for theater and power, walloping his kit and willing to go off the rails, and Lindsey gets a huge kick out of that. In olden times, Lindsey and Mick were the two members who most heavily fed off each other’s energy. You could see it in both their faces. I think Lindsey sees Mick as a primal musical force (with a few mass-audience flaws in his thinking) and as a work in progress. And Mick may see Lindsey that way, too. They both have always seemed to want to improve each other—to perfect each other. But maybe there’s an even more personal side of their relationship, too. Sometimes, Lindsey seems to revel in Mick’s aura as if Mick were an older brother.

I think at the end of the day, Mick has always been willing to reconcile with Lindsey. It doesn't seem like grudges are held between the two for long periods of time. Despite all of Mick's spineless, passive-aggressive BS....there seems to be a consistent line of communication that comes back around, even after a period of estrangement. It's possible that Mick recognizes the history between them in a stronger way than some of the others in the band. Still, I'll always suspect Mick's actions with his financial agenda.

It's really sad that Mick and Christine couldn't show up with more principle and dignity with the 2018 situation (I expect nothing from John)

Yes, I realize that Stevie may have declared she would never tour at all then, if she could not tour without Lindsey. But she would only have stood her ground for one or two years at most. In the end, she likes the benefits of a Fleetwood Mac tour as much as anyone does and she would’ve given in. If only the McVies had stood with Lindsey.

I was thinking about what you said and I wholeheartedly agree that she would have held out for at least two years had they decided to not fire Lindsey. And then it would have been 2020 and they'd all be screwed.

Yes to this. Lindsey has even mentioned it in interviews in later years-- that Mick manages to keep in touch with people, whereas he himself doesn't. Mick has a social gene that LB doesn't (or doesn't have in quite the same way). Mick likes and needs to be around people, and as you say he's able to keep lines of communication open even when there's estrangement or disagreement. It seems like LB has come to appreciate that aspect of Mick's personality.

But to Michele's point-- he def wants something. He knows Mick is the key to Stevie (recall how he got Mick onside when Stevie didn't want to tour around 2012 and let Mick voice all of that to the press). Mick is his key to revenge .... ie subverting Stevie's wishes and getting back in the band. She's one-up on him right now and he can't enjoy that. Maybe he didn't even see it coming, which makes it worse for him. He wants Mick to use his influence with Stevie re getting the 5 back together. That's my bet and I'm sticking to it.

Back in 2012, Lindsey was saying he understood why Stevie wanted another year to tour her record and said something like he needed the same thing in 87.

It's really crazy that John has no power in the band.

This all rings so true to me. In fact when I read the above, I think of all the stage moments in my head that I've admired about these two. The intro of a few ISA, come to mind. Lindsey and Mick were very connected on stage.

Honestly, it sounds like he's the smartest one of them all.

Stay out of the sh*t show. Collect giant paycheck. Go home and laugh at the drama queens.
