Well Looks like Neil expects to be doing *something* in and around LA for a while

Well, I wouldn't want Lindsey to go back after this sh*t show, so it may has well be him as anyone.

That's some damned FUGLY wall paper behind the bar, and in the dining room! Makes me think of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds!

This could be just as much about Crowded House as Fleetwood Mac. Liam lives in L.A. as does Mitchell Froom, both currently in Crowded House. I think Fleetwood Mac was a factor, but not THE factor.

I think we have seen the last of Fleetwood Mac.....sad to say

Clearly touring with FM pays off handsomely.

HomerMcvie 03-27-2020 12:56 PM

The Googles say he's worth 30 million. I'm sure he didn't get most of that in the past couple of years.

Agreed Homer.. Article also says he had a house in LA already so seems like this one is a bit of an upgrade for him. Not only does FM pay more handsomely, but I suspect makes one a bit more relevant. Maybe he's hoping for/planning more work. Not with FM--I do agree, they are DONE

lol or maybe not? we were just talking in another chat how he could apparently only afford a "measly" 4M house, not one of Kristen Buckingham's 20M ones.

guess FM doesn't pay their contractors that much. ;)

yup, he used his newly-found Mac-related "visibility" to stand up a new version of Crowded House. they were supposed to tour same venues and headlining same festivals Mac did last summer in Europe this summer. of course a lot of that may end up getting cancelled now.

yup, right in Lindsey's neighborhood.

they may end up all bumping into each other on their social distancing hikes around the neighborhood.

I was thinking the same. A 4M house in LA isn't that much money.

He might.

Neil seemed to find more bang for his buck elsewhere.

I seem to recall either LB or Trent Reznor mentioning they were in the same neighborhood. And didn't KB mention crossing paths with John's wife Julie as they were also close by?

i don't remember about Trent, i do remember Lindsey saying that Mitchell Froom is his neighbor.

and yes, John is LB's neighbor too.

i couldn't care less where and what Neil is buying. but if Neil is coming to work in Froom's studio, that is in the same neighborhood as LB.

It’s just an effing rock band.

The worst thing that happened is that an insanely wealthy guitarist still got paid without having to go on tour. He still has a lovely wife and three lovely children, still lives a life of luxury, is still making music, is still a legend...

Neil Finn had a very successful career before he ever met anyone named Fleetwood, McVie, or Nicks. As HomerDavid said, he’s worth about $30 million, which is way beyond anything he made in Fleetwood Mac. It’s not like DDIO wasn’t the second highest charting single in the setlist last tour. And, it’s not like his son and grandchild didn’t already live in LA.

Blood money?

Talk about losing perspective.

Yes, BUT your second point is a HUGE part of why $tevie HATES him.

$he won the fame and riches game. But he won the LIFE game(with plenty of riches, just not being a household name). $he hates him for attaining what $he never could. A happy family.

I mean, HOW DARE HE?

So did his father and his brother. Are you blaming Fleetwood Mac for that also?

fair enough, but family history isn't a guarantee it'll happen, it's just a pre-disposition (higher likelihood). the heart attack itself requires some triggering event that demands more of your debilitated heart than it can handle. For my dad it was doing far too much heavy lifting while landscaping the yard; maybe the final link in the chain for LB was a coup.:shrug:

We have talked about this since forever. Lindsey's heart attack was triggered by his firing and the way those traitors treated him. He had a health family history but he had been doing ok for more than 60 years, so that was not a coincidence.
There will always be those fans who want to believe the band and specifically $tevie did nothing wrong, so they can go to bed at night thinking their Queen is still the most warm and considerate of all. Right….

Like Homer said, he won at life, and no matter how many times she tries to hurt him, she can't change that.

I'm not one of those people. I know she orchestrated the whole thing and I will always hope she changes her mind, apologizes and asks him to come back. But I'm also a realist and I'm a person who accepts things for the way they are. I will always love Stevie and her music. I have been a FM fan since the mid 1970's. I don't always like the decisions they make but I see zero point in complaining about LB getting fired this far into the present.

yes. many people have trouble understanding a predisposition, person's risk of developing a disease. it is a non-intuitive concept, especially if one does not have science, statistical or medical background.

the problem is, that many people who don't understand it insist on their "common sense" interpretation and knowing better.

Bulls**t.

My step-dad had a heart attack long before he ever met my mother. About 3.5 years into their marriage, his only son was killed in a car accident. He was devastated but didn’t have a heart attack. I can’t imagine getting fired from a rock band was anywhere near as traumatic. So forgive me for still being highly skeptical.

Lindsey is genetically predisposed to heart disease and, go figure, ended up having a heart attack. If it had anything to do with getting fired, he should sue...HIS THERAPIST. Life is full of trauma and disappointment. If he is too ill equipped to handle getting fired from a band that’s been more inactive than not over the past 22 years, then his therapist has done a lousy job. Lindsey is still insanely wealthy, still has a beautiful family, is still able to make music, and was still able to tour. Forgive me for feeling less than sorry for him.

This!! ^^^

Imagine you already have a history of heart problems, and then you get a phone call letting you know that your ex girlfriend has had you fired. Then you go try to find out what's really happening only to find out the people you've known, loved, and worked with for 43 years have ghosted you. You even think you could fly to Hawaii and work things out only to be told by the promoter that you are not welcome. Oh, and you were the musical director of the institution that has become as big as any band out there.

Yea, I can't see why anyone here would speculate that it did anything to his heart or condition.
