Christine has passed away according to her Instagram

Heartbreaking if true. Her verified Insta posted it though.

Words cannot express. What a great blessing that she came out of retirement to record one more truly fabulous album with her musical kindred: Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, and her ex-husband John McVie. Wish it could have been the beginning of many more.

I found cryptic this Tweet from Lindsey yesterday, though I thought he was referring to himself rather than to Christine: https://twitter.com/LBuckingham/stat...11326406905857

I saw that too. It makes sense now.

Devastated :(

Sobbing in my office listening to "Why" on a loop for the past twenty minutes. And now I need to go be professional with people. God damn it.

I am just beyond devastated. She was so talented, down to earth, beautiful and a class act. This is news every fan has dreaded

The Catdancer 11-30-2022 03:49 PM

This is heartbreaking news and unexpected. I don't know what to say. Just heartbroken.

BigAl84 11-30-2022 04:13 PM

Gutted, just absolutely gutted. I'm also not prepared to handle a statement from Nicks which will somehow be more about herself than Christine.

SisterNightroad 11-30-2022 04:15 PM

I'm completely shocked. I didn't even know she was ill. I hope she didn't suffer. Goodbye Christine.

That's the first song I played as well. Christine was my favorite Mac. :( I really wasn't expecting her to go first... age aside.

Will always be my Song Bird. RIP Christine!! I always said that there's three women singers who are instantly recognizable the minute they start singing: Christine McVie, Karen Carpenter and Barbra Streisand. They are one of a kind.

Macfan4life 11-30-2022 04:27 PM

I feel like I am in a dream. I was out walking the dogs in disbelief.
Thank you for the best playing and singing and for that wonderful sense of humor
Your fans will miss you so much. For about 10 years after you left Fleetwood Mac, I would have a recurring dream of meeting you about once per year.

Jondalar 11-30-2022 04:34 PM

I am absolutely devastated. I cannot believe it. What a way to end 2022. Just awful. :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

9.45pm here in the uk.
Downing a bottle of wine, listening to all my favourites…
Why, come a little bit closer, over and over, brown eyes, warm ways, spare me a little, mystified, wish you were here, show me a smile, and so on….

Feeling very melancholy. The family knows to leave me alone.
Damn
