How's that for an active creative musician? This is how it's done.

Now we're talking! This sounds great. I'll be at the Houston show for sure!

So exciting.

Why was this chosen as the single? The most mainstream?

It's tune-sy. You can hum to it.

I'm thrilled he's releasing the album. Give it up for elle and BLY for getting him to:laugh: Album was recorded in 2018, right?

Wonder if he'll do a signing on Friday September 17 in NYC or maybe Hoboken, NJ.

I feel like the song is a blend of his recent solo songs: Hunger, Feel About You.

So I'm not jumping with joy for the song. It's like an honoring of Lindsey's sound. I appreciate the throwback to the kind of 2008-2017 sound. I hope the album has a different sound than this song.

I've never heard Dancing before... is that the song from his 2012 tour?

Jondalar 06-08-2021 01:11 PM

I just pre-ordered it. The first single reminds me of his Tango in the Night stuff.

Jondalar 06-08-2021 01:20 PM

hmmm, the first single is too sedate, and kinda boring, but it's an adult conetmporary release

michelej1 06-08-2021 02:15 PM

Yes, it’s not even as hummable as Did You Miss Me. But I’m confident that there will be plenty of other selections to please me on the album and I’m just glad he’s getting it out there. Finally.

Blake Mills in the first few comments on Instagram... "where there's joy ,there must be sorrow, never far apart"

Of course he is able to zero in on something like that very quickly.

This songs deserves repeat listens...

Yes, this is how it’s done. Lindsey is in such close artistic touch with all his influences, from Brian Wilson to Revolver-era Beatles to Donovan, that he can write these choral earworms in his sleep. This one is lovely—the way he sings “weeping willow/on my pillow” is a beautifully felt way to express optimism and the maturity with which the guy in the lyric faces setbacks. The two-note guitar pattern (what could be simpler than a major second?) is a master class in how to use a carefully devised guitar part to extend the emotional palette of a song without making a grandstanding guitar statement. Think of what it adds to the chorus—how richer the chorus is with it. When Lindsey talks, for example, about Scotty Moore or George Harrison and making the guitar serve the song, this is what he means.
