Controversy over new ad with Edge of 17
The Out magazine website has an article about a controversial new John Lewis commercial with a young boy in make up and a dress singing along to Edge of Seventeen. Apparently, there are about 4500 likes and 8000 dislikes, with comments saying the ad is dangerous for kids. I suppose this is to be expected, since Stevie sold her catalog. I know in the past Stevie was pretty reluctant to allow her songs in movies or commercials.
The commercial can be seen on YouTube- type in John Lewis insurance let life in. |

It's a cute commercial. |
Stevie tweeted that she loves the commercial. It would've been nice if there was more diversity in the commercial, imo. Very white.

I don't see anything wrong with the commercial other than breaking stuff in the house:laugh: |
The advert…funny as it was ..has been removed from TV.
Why.? The insurers (John Lewis) were concerned that the Ad was giving the idea, that your kid could smash up your home…..and your Insurance company would pick up the tab. Let’s hope that John Lewis retail have better success with their Christmas ad. “Skye the alien, celebrates his first Christmas “ John Lewis Christmas adverts are looked forward to with anticipation in the UK. I haven’t seen it so can’t comment. |
Further to prev post…John Lewis may have pulled the advert….but.
Durex have used it, to say …look what happens when you have kids. Hahahaha |
