I watched "After Sex" with Brooke Shields and assorted B listers.

The only epiphany I had was hearing the outstanding music of Mr. Glen Scott. Glen Scott is one of the greatest recording artists in contemporary music—and one of my enduring favorites. You can't categorize him easily, but he's prodigiously gifted, passionate, hip, and peerless as a track arranger and orchestrator. I think he started with a funk band called Liberty. I wish all his music were more readily available, but right now a lot of it is hard to find. You could fill your entire iPod with Glen and never get tired of him. Songs like "Delusions of Grandeur," "Dawn," and "Heaven" are classics.

Gone ~ Amanda Seyfried
Let me save all Ledgies about 1 1/2 hours of
their lives. Don't rent this movie. It was just
horrible. Terrible acting.

Chronicle
I was surprised I liked the first 2/3's of this movie.
But like many movies, they didn't know how to end
it. Someone with a few brain cells could have made
this a good movie.

Perfect Sense
A big fail.

Coriolanus
It was bad enough that I had to fast forward through
over half of it.

The Flowers Of War
Christian Bale stars in this movie. And he seems to be
it's weakest link. I did enjoy it overall, but it is difficult
to watch because of the horrific violence.

(500) Days of Summer-Absolutely loved it, thought it was a brilliant movie.

Cruel Intentions-Never gets old, love Sarah.

The Mist-I actually enjoyed this movie a lot, I now hate insects much more though.

Immortals - what a disappointment, though I don't know why I expected something great

The Descendants - I wanted to like this more than I did. My first reaction is that it was "overrated"... the one thing I found was that all of the characters were just obnoxious and nearly unlikeable.

Animal Kingdom - an Aussie flick that was quite enjoyable. Has a certain dark flair to it that's slightly reminiscent of the heavy crime dramas like Goodfellas or Casino.

Big Miracle
I like Drew Barrymore, but this
movie was horrible. Waste of time
for sure.

Casa de mi Padre
Not for everyone, but I laughed
at it. Those horses and the white
mountain lion
, what a trip.

Salmon Fishing In The Yemen
An enjoyable beautiful movie except for
Kristin Scott Thomas' potty mouth.

The Fairy
A fairy shows up at a small hotel and
gives the clerk three wishes. Weird, odd
and different is how I would describe this
French Film.

Intruders, (Clive Owen)
Do you like scary movies? Well,
if you don't rent this one. Horrible.

A Thousand Words
(Eddie Murphy),
Just a few laughs with a touching
moment or two. Ho-hum.

I keep forgetting this thread!

I watched Frankie and Johnny (1991), Thelma and Louise (1991) and one of my absolute favourites, Double Indeminty (994) this weekend. The last two are pretty much flawless but, while Ilove Michelle Pfeiffer, Frankie and Johnny isn't the best. It's ok but never really gets going and I find myself unable to care about her character too much. I have to agree with many otherts that Kathy Bates would have been better if she'd been approached for the role after doing it on Broadway before.

Martin Scorsese Presents: The Blues: A Musical Journey: Disc One (of five)
I saw much of this series a few years back on PBS. A very entertaining look at Blues
music. A big thank you to Alan Lomax for all the work he did at preserving American
Music.

Because I have admittedly terrible taste in movies, lately :-

Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang (I'd heard good things on other forums and I wanted to check it out for myself. Some parts are quite cheesy, and it could never claim to be "Blockbuster Worthy". But it's a lot of fun.)
13 Going On 30 (Admittedly I only watched this because of Mark Ruffalo, who is actually quite adorable)
The Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind (I've had this in my collection for years, but I've never quite gotten around to watching it. I wish I had done years ago, because it's simply stunning. Jim Carrey in one of his best films. Interesting that his best films tend to be his more serious roles)

I love Frankie and Johnny...it's one of my favorite love stories. Michelle is great in it. Although when Terrence McNally wrote the screenplay based on his play, he dropped the homeliness theme used in the play, focusing more on the theme of loneliness in the screenplay.

Now that it's been out nearly a year I would like say that
Ex Machina (Alicia Vikander) is one of my most favorite
films ever.

So many little details to watch for. And the best thing about it
is not what you see, it's what it makes you consider.

I watched Tootsie.
