I know. I wouldn't have known that was Christine either. But, there is a picture of the band at the party in Mick's 25 year coffee table book. Chris was in blackface, Lindsey was a priest & John was a Nazi. :shocked: I was shocked when I first saw that picture. It's very politically incorrect, although it was 1978. Still....

I think he's very interested in that period of history...but that doesn't really excuse the costume! He pulled a Prince Harry LOL. :rolleyes:

Yeah. I remember in Mick's book(the earlier one), he mentioned that when they had toured in Germany back in the 1970's, they had traveled on a train which Hitler had also used. Mick mentioned that John had loved that since he collected Nazi memorabilia. I certainly hope he isn't into that kind of thing anymore. Afterall, his wife is Jewish, I believe.

Both Chris & John could have picked better costumes for that Halloween party, in my opinion.

I LOVE Mammy and Aunt Jemimiah - they are very popular in the collectable department - do a goggle search and you will see what I mean. Plus, the idea of Chris as Mammy is a riot.

I know some take offense at it, but I do not.

I think Mick also said that they were all too freaked out to actually ride in Hitler's train, didn't he? anyway I suppose back in 1978 there wasn't the 'political correctness' that there is today; IMO it's doubtful you'd see folks dressing up in those costumes in 2005.

To me that is a little sad because to me it indicates a lack of a sense of humor and a complete inability to laugh at something that once was horrible - then again, I am not very PC. But, it is all subjective I guess. For example, I went to Halloween a few years ago dressed as a cardinal somplete with a red miter and a HUGE red ring. I had no less than five black people walk up to me and asked me if I was dressed as the clan :eek: I was like NO WAY - I would never do that :eek:

Interestingly, more than one of them laughed and thought it was funny if I had been a klansman :eek:

(The band was actually afraid to ride in Hitler's creepy coach, and preferred to hang out in the dining car.)"

So the band did ride in the train, but stayed away from Hitler's private car. I'm not sure about John though. I have a feeling he couldn't resist not checking out Hitler's private coach. :laugh:

I dunno, I think maybe you have to have more of a sense of 'black humor' to find a Nazi uniform humorous. It's about as funny as a Klansman costume (which IMO is not funny at all!) :shrug: I guess i don't think some stuff should be laughed at...? but I'm very sensitive LOL.

Actually, I have seen that :eek: But, it was in the early 80's when PC was not really around :cool: I thought it was hysterical then and still do :laugh:
