Why the automatic logout?
 

Just a thing that's been bothering me about this forum: why does it automatically log me out after a certain point after I've been inactive?

I mean it's okay if this can't be changed, it's just something that I've noticed ever since joining and would like to know why.

Check "remember me" and make sure you let your browser save password. It never logs me out unless I manually clear my saved info /cache etc

The "remember me" trick should work.

Also, if you do get logged out in the middle of a post, do not log in in the regular upper right box.

Usually, if you try to post and you are logged out, a wide log in box in the MIDDLE of the screen pops up. If you log in that way, through the MIDDLE screen, you will not lose your post. And you can hit your back arrow and retrieve what was on your last screen too.

Plus for some reason if you log in on two different computers it seems to often require you to log in again despite clicking the "remember me" button. I use my laptop at work and my desktop at home, and occasionally my phone, which means I often have to log in regularly.
