Minor copyright addition

Johnny Stew mentioned finding some new Stevie songs registered with the U.S. Copyright office, so I thought I'd take a gander for LB tunes. Didn't see anything new except one item. (In looking over the dates to his other registered songs, for the most part, it looks like he's generally registered them just a month before a release or a month after.)

Anyway, the one new item I did see with his name on it was a song that says it's co-authored by LB and Julian Raymond. Julian is, I believe, primarily a producer. He's done stuff for Fastball, Cheap Trick, among others.

Interesting news, Les. Thanks for tracking that down. It's a great name for a new Fleetwood album: "What Is the World Coming To?"

I hope it's in B flat!

Hi Neil,

Could you post some of the titles of the new things you come across?

I had intended to go back and look under Chris' name too, but got sidetracked and never got back to it.

Thanks.

Thanks

Hmm.. more than I was expecting. I wonder if they ran any of those from '87 down in the Tango sessions? Did Quintela's group put out any albums that are available? I wonder if any of these might have ended up there? Very interesting. Thanks.

Alimony Music. Hehe.

BellaDonnaGypsy 06-27-2002 09:58 AM

Wow, that's a lot of songs! It's amazing what that search can turn up. I wonder if any of those Christine songs were ever recorded... it would be a shame for them to just be lost in the confines of the Library Of Congress. :(

Laura.

I wonder whether "Come On, Baby" and/or "Honey Number 1" (both registered in 1979) were what became "Honey Hi."

(Remember the first line is "Come on, baby, could you ever be.")

Yes, I was sort of wandering along the same train of thought. I noticed in looking over Lindsey's songs that several of them, particularly the Tusk ones, were registered and then reregistered a little bit later with notations about amended lyrics or a change in arrangement. So it seems they did register songs that were still in various states of progress from time to time.

This isn't really related, but I read...on the newsgroup, I think, yes...a little while ago that someone had gotten ahold of some original acetates of a few of Lindsey's Go Insane songs. DW Suite had the alternate title of "Epic" and Loving Cup had the alternate title of "Hot Gospel." You remember David? I was scanning for those titles on the copyright site, but it looked like he had his GI songs registered shortly after the album was released when the names were already set in stone.

That's "Never Forget" :)

Anyway, thanks for posting... and I second the emotion... It would be a shame if those remain lost. :(

Yeah, I did notice that... and the line from Never Forget. I guess they would have had to have been re-registered if they were altered.

Oh, and am I going totally mad or did Christine do Too Much Is Not Enough on her solo tour? I can't be bothered to go upstairs and find the CD right now... :D Because that would account for another song.

You know, they should be looking *here* for ideas for that greatest hits package... we want the stuff we haven't heard before, damnit!

Laura.
