Christine McVie's life and legacy brought Fleetwood Mac together again to celebrate her memory.

McVie's service was held Monday night at Little Beach House Malibu -- and it was all about celebrating the life and career of the famed singer/songwriter and keyboardist.

Fleetwood Mac members Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, and Stevie Nicks, who called Christine her "best friend in the whole world" were spotted outside the event as they paid their respects and shared some of their favorite memories of McVie.

When she died, the group put a statement out saying, "There are no words to describe our sadness at the passing of Christine McVie. She was truly one-of-a-kind, special and talented beyond measure. She was the best musician anyone could have in their band and the best friend anyone could have in their life. We were so lucky to have a life with her. Individually and together, we cherished Christine deeply and are thankful for the amazing memories we have. She will be so very missed."

I wonder if John was there. He lives in Los Angeles. I’m curious to know more details about this event.

i'm sure more will come out, tmz just broke the story.

also, looking at pics, i think it's her friend Mary and not Karen in the pic with SN, and i'm not sure who is the girl with Mick.

It actually is.

I wonder if anyone else from the band was there, i.e. Billy?

I’m sure he was there - he’s probably just stealthier when it comes to avoiding paparazzi.

It looks like Lynne and Ruby in the photos with Mick, and could that be Sharon standing right behind Stevie?

It’s so shady that paparazzi were there capturing these people in such a vulnerable moment of mourning a loved one, and that the articles spent so much time talking about what they were wearing. My heart is breaking all over again just imagining all the bittersweet emotions shared by Christine’s musical family that night.

I agree it is odd that the writer is commenting on what they are wearing. Its not a wake or funeral. It's a celebration of her life memorial.

I would think do, too, though the DAILY MAIL article suggests it was just Mick, Lindsey and Stevie. But I can’t picture John NOT going unless — god forbid — something is up with him, too.

SteveMacD 01-10-2023 06:21 PM

I could see John skipping it if he went to whatever service her family might have had.

I would honestly bet my life that John was not there. His health may not be fantastic but I don't think anything 'is up' with him, other than grief, and wanting to remain a private guy and keep Chris close to his own heart. This is not his thing *at all*.

Maybe he's there, maybe not. He's not one to dwell, however.
