New album mention in InStyle!

From the March issue of Instyle's interview with Sheryl Crow-'Crow even plays on two songs on the forthcoming Fleetwood Mac album, making her the only guest the group invited to appear on its first new studio album in 15 years'.

Not too thrilled with the author saying it's the first album in 15 years but sure am excited 'Say You Will' was mentioned!

It's a nice article about Sheryl...lots of beautiful pics...and a couple of quotes from Stevie...a must have if you're a fan of Sheryl Crow.

Christy!! LMFAO:laugh:
If I can glean some words from what you were saying :

LAF KREW WLD

Translation: "It's LAF-able that Sheryl's in the FM KREW - What's the WLD coming to?"

That would be Thrown Down and Say You Will anyway. The only thing that disturbs me about this article is not Sheryl's presence as much as the absence of the Stones. What was Mick getting at when he said 'there'll be a surprise..' etc. I'm assuming the track they participated on was one of the four or five cut.

I was always under the impression that the Stones' "presence" on the album was to be in spirit, and not as guest musicians.
But I could be wrong.

Here's a thought.... maybe one of the Stones covers that Lindsey did will be a hidden bonus track. :D

Ok, i've returned from that flight of fancy!

Johnny, you're just the eternal optimist, aren't you? :p

I like Sheryl Crow. I'm glad she's on the album to offset Stevie's raspy tones. I think they harmonize well together. Shery is incredibly talented. Talk about someone who deserves the success she has received.

Here's hoping she'll join the Mac on tour. Yeah, baby, she could play keyboards and join Lindsey on guitar when needed. Of course, as long as she takes a back seat to Lindsey, I'd be OK with it.

It's a dirty job, but somebody's gotta do it! :D

Actually though, I'd consider myself to be a pragmatist, with a healthy dose of optimism thrown in for good measure. :)

As for Sheryl's contributions to the album... I doubt it will be anything obtrusive. I don't think it's going to be a "Fleetwood Mac, featuring Sheryl Crow" kind of deal, like it was with Rob Thomas, et al., and their contributions to Santana's last two albums.

It'll probably just amount to some tasteful backing vocals, and some keyboard parts that might not even be noticeable to the average listener.

I'm sure any concerns people have about her being on the album, will be assuaged once they've heard the finished product.
(Uh oh, there I go being optimistic again!)

Sheryl's all right by me

Carnevaca, I share your thoughts on this. Part of the appeal of the Rumours line-up was having two talented women. Sheryl Crow won't steal any thunder from Stevie, and in fact she could add some real nice energy on stage.

You'll get no argument from me.

wondergirl9847 02-14-2003 10:31 PM

Okay look...

Sheryl Crow being on this album wouldn't bother me so frickin much if she wasn't attached to Stevie's friggin hip!!!!! I mean, I don't see her "stealing thunder" from anyone, it's just that it's like Stevie can't do ANYTHING without Sheryl RIGHT THERE!!! I mean, GEEZ, okay, she's a great friend, fine, but good gravy, it's like, all of a sudden, BAM, they are surgically attached!!

Overexposure x's a TRAZILLION if ya ask me.

BigAl84 02-14-2003 11:30 PM

oh get over it!

Woa..i hear an eagles tune coming on...

Sheryls vocals will probably be so lost in the mix we wont even know its there. Yeh sheryl is just a bit overexposed...okay...she might sing backup on two songs...big friggin doo
