Stevie: Great backup singer or Greatest backup singer?

I only ask because I think her lead vocals can be hit or miss, but she absolutely nails harmony vocals. It could be with Christine, Lindsey, Bob, Kenny, John Stewart, Warren, Tom, Don, Billy, Rick...Too many to remember, but really, it could be anybody.

Yes, I think she is great as a back up. I recently listened to the 24K "Wild Hear/Bella Donna" youtube. And I had to stop it because her lead was so nasal and it was so annoying. But, her backing vocals even to this day really add to a song. I loved she and Christine on Neil Finn's "Find Your Way Back". That vocal blend is beautiful.

She was great on back up on Gold, Magnet and Steel, and early Fleetwood Mac albums. But definitely not for the last 25 years.

Well ... I think that she has qualities as a harmony vocalist ... I would say she somehow does it magically. So it’s not like an objective characterization of her as being “greatest ever” but more of an ability to liven up a song or give it an additional layer of depth with the nasal sound of her singing.

Well ... I think that some of that quality is found most especially on the concert stage, where people don’t necessarily listen for it or recognize it as such. Such as “Angel” in the arena and “How Still My Love” at the Fabulous Forum

She has a great harmony singing voice, she just knows where to pitch her voice.
I don’t mean as a backing singer.
She harmonises with Lindsey just perfect. And it seems easy.

“Say Goodbye” live 2005 comes to mind…
