Brit Awards: 30 years of fights, fashion and fiascos

As a journalist I’ve been backstage covering the event for years – and still vividly remember watching the nightmare pairing of Mick Fleetwood and Sam Fox, from the coughing, spluttering start (Mick) to the fighting back the tears end (Sam) . . .

It took just 10 minutes of toe-curling banter between the bizarre pairing of drummer Mick Fleetwood and Page Three girl Sam Fox to realise the show was a total car-crash.

Most cringey moment was Boy George being announced as the Four Tops.

When Mick and his band Fleetwood Mac returned to pick up an Outstanding Contribution to Music award in 1998, he grabbed me and said: “Please tell me that Page Three girl isn’t anywhere near.”

Poor old Mick, i remember it well, I was so excited that he was going to co-present and then being absolutely devastated when it all went wrong for him. I blame Sam Fox i watched her on a reality programme a couple of years back when she came on paralytic and then swore blind she didn't drink!

I do however realise that Mick was battling problems of his own too!

My god they've just let Sam Fox present another award and she's mucked it up again:shocked: When will they learn!

I heard Peter Kay say 'Sam Fleetwood... Mick Fox... Sam Fox' Smiled and fast forwarded, how badly did she mess up?

She seemed to be having problems with that old autocue again, said rememorable performance and generally waffled on a bit. mind you i think The Spice girls and certainly Geri Halliwell presenting an award then using it as an excuse to talk about herself has since trumped that!

Ahh.

Gah, I know! Ugh, using anothers spotlight to finish your own speech is pretty low. Bring on Florence and the Machine, I say! :blob1:
