Decades ago, Beethoven’s 5th was widely used in commercials and advertisements. I suspect Steve’s saying Christine’s song is no longer a once-famous pop song but, like Beethoven’s 5th, music that has been callously co-opted for commerce (ie: selling things). In the 80s, Marvin Gaye’s “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” became the anthem of dancing cartoon raisins.

Everywhere was used in a cellular phone commercial with a dancing horse around the On With the Show Tour too.
