'It's Only Love' live?
 

Does anyone have a live version of "It's Only Love"? I remember she was doing it at one-off shows before the TISL tour started _ at a small club show with Sheryl Crow in NYC, for example. Anyone have (or know of) a recording of one of these performances?

Also, there is apparently a video of it because I saw part of it on a CNN special during the TISL promotional hoopla. Sadly, I did not record it :mad: But, I am up for copies to be sent !!!!! :D :wavey:

Is there any way I could convince you to burn a CD of the whole "Shine" show for me? I don't really have much to trade, but I would of course pay for the cost of the CD and shipping.

that shine show rocks.... i think that version of stop draggin my heart around is just so wonderful... i mean... she rewrites the song! new lyrics!! then the medley of "sssstttop!!!! ..... stopppp!!" i gotta go have a listen.

That is the best...i love how Stevie starts singing the song before the band starts and Sheryl is like "Can you wait for us"? I think Stevie had a couple drinks that night,cause she sounded like she was having alot of fun...i wish she'd do that more often..she is so much more entertaining,lol.

It sounds like it was just a fun, who cares if we're that good, just play kinda show. I love hearing all the requests the audience yells out: "Tusk" being my favorite. And the woman who yells "Your new stuff's great Stevie!"...even though it was recorded the night before TISL dropped.

But Stevie's backing vocals on "The Difficult Kind" are a little rough. Adds to the character of the night, though ;)

I think it's funny that Stevie has no idea what the lyrics to It's Only Love really are during the Shine show. Maybe it was nerves, but I think she never really bothered to memorize them. It's one of my top faves from TISL, but she did kinda butcher it that night. I really expected to see that one during the TISL tour, but after hearing her and Sheryl perform it that night, I could see why they didn't.

But Jessica Leigh is right about SDMHA - that is an awesome version of the song. I think after flubbing It's Only Love she wanted to show what she could do with a song she knows better. :laugh:

She must have memorized it for awhile, anyway. I saw her sing it at the show at the SIR theatre in LA. It was a beautiful version, and I was stunned it wasn't included in the tour set. At least FFG made it onto the list.

Wow, you know I think I remember that now. I think someone posted the setlist from that show and I just assumed it would be on the tour. Too bad nobody has a recording of that show!

My other theory of why she didn't do that one for the TISL show was that it might slow things down too much. She also ditched Landslide and didn't really have anything too "slow" on that tour. I think that was an attempt to keep the show rocking.

Can you please send me the song too. I would love to have it if any of you out there have it.

Thanks for the song. But I found this was not Stevie's best day for singing. She sounded flat for the first half of the song. Other wise it was good sounding.

Is there more than one Shine show? I just received a copy of the Shine show but there's no Stevie on it. I love Sheryl so I like the show, but I did really want to hear Stevie. If someone could help me out on this it would be much appreciated. :p
