Hi BlueGrass,
Yes this info is correct. Say You Will is a Stevie song. Mick has stated in a recent interview that Christine´s vocals would be "hovering" over one track, so you can safely bet that Steal Your Heart Away will also be on the set, as well as the Rolling Stones covers from their Between The Buttons album; Lindsey has recorded 4 tracks: Blue Turns To Grey, The Singer Not The Song, Gotta Get Away and She Smiled Sweetly. We don´t know yet if all 4 will be featured on the album. 15 possible album titles were pasted on their studio wall, options include Gift Of Screws, Full Circle and Infatuation. Probably Twist Of Fate as well, this was the working title for the Tango In The Night album! If anyone has more info, please pass it on! Greetings and have a smashing Macfull year!! Marcel (buckmacnicks) |
Actually, only ONE of Lindsey's Stones covers came from "Between the Buttons"...the other three came from "December's Children" (about 2 years earlier)
|
Seeing as "Gift Of Screws" was named as being a possible title, it would be reasonable to assume that it also made the final tracklist.

This is some...
interesting stuff to read...At least some of the info I learned about came from right here, Brian J.
|
I hope there arent too many rolling stones cover versions
Anyone know where I can do some heavy duty downloading of the gift of screws stuff???Ive been meaning to for ages and ages and ages |
Where do you hear Christine on "Steal Your Heart Away"??!! I have both versions, and I can only hear Lindsey. Maybe she played keys on the track back when Lindsey invited Mick, John and her to work on some songs.

Especially since BTLH was, at least according to Lindsey's DANCE speech, the song that got them back together, I would make sense to include it on the subsequent studio album.
|
Hopefully this time around "Bleed To Love Her" will get the recognition it deserves (if it is indeed on the album... and I'm hoping it is).
I especially love the long instrumental coda on the 'Gift Of Screws' version, so I hope they didn't mess with that. BlueGrass... on the Random Thoughts section (or whatever it's called) on Mick's site, he stated that December 10th was the final day of mixing, etc., and it was on that date the album was officially considered complete by the band. So you might want to add that into your info too. :) Johnny Stew |
If you haven't already seen it, you might want to check out http://www.fleetwoodmac-uk.com. Neil did a great job of compiling all of the articles, potential songs, and speculated/confirmed info that we have about the new album so far onto one page. :)

I remember reading where Mick had said that there's a "little bit of Christine hovering" there, but I didn't really interpret that as meaning she will actually be on the album.
I know he was referring to some of Lindsey's GOS demos on which Christine appears. But I think he simply met that since her vocals are on the demos, she is sort of "with the band" when they recorded the album. And even though Gift of Screws was a suggested title, does it necessarily mean the song will be included? I mean, they could simply decide to title the CD "Gift of Screws" without even touching the actual song. Going by this, we could also argue that "Infatuation" might just be a song as well. All I know is that this album is definitely producing lots of anticipation! |
Who the HECK is singing the background vocal in THROWN DOWN?? It has been DRIVING me crazy.......not Christine, not Sheryl, didn't sound like any of Stevie's girls.......WHO IS IT??? lol.....
Kristin |
As a huge LB fan I must admit, that in my opinion "Bleed to love her" from GOS ist suffering severely from a lack of power. I liked the live version very much but this one didn`t make it on my version of GOS. Also My little demon, but I didn't like it on the Dance either, so that is something different. Also Miranda which is awful in my opinion, this one definitely doesn't fit to the rest and on GOS. Hopefully none of these tracks will be there... But nevertheless I seem to be the only one hoping, that the upcoming CD (double- believe when seeing it in the stores) will contain only material that I don't know... ;-)
I also think it wouldn't be wise to include already published songs (as BTLH for example) and even the SYHA was available before on this best buy thing, probably not to a broad public but nevertheless already published. If there really is such a large amount of material on storage from the last 10 years, then why not using different things than these known ones... |
Background singers
I kind of wonder that too-I just assumed they were Stevie's backup singers..
|
Half of me wishes that awesome (evolved from '97) versions of "Bleed To Love Her" and "My Little Demon" both make it onto the new album because I think they are two of LB's best songs ever, and the other half wishes that they don't so that there is more track space for songs that I haven't heard/haven't been officially released before!

Yeah really...i doesn't sound like Sharon...MAYBE Lori...i dunno...not that i usually analyze background vocals but that is just my opinion... |
I don't know....you know that whole line in the background that goes, you know...."something, something, something....lol....worry baby, there's nothing left to say"........I can't figure out who it is.....it almost sounds Tori Amos-esque to me.....but obviously it's not. lol.

*agress with seteca* would be nice to see proper studio versions of BTLH and MLD and even a studio version of the Dance version of 'Go insane'

Isn't one of the backing vocalists on Thrown Down Mindy Stein? I'm just guessing of course but she's the only person associated with the group I can think of who sounds like this. Sharon may be in there too but buried low in the mix.
With regard to the tracklisting for the new album, does anybody else hope that Anabel Lee will be included? I love this song and think with some inventive arranging courtesy of Lindsey, it could be as moving as Gypsy. I guess it doesn't stand a strong chance of inclusion due to the fact that Stevie didn't write the lyrics but I'd sure be pleased if it was. |

this song has LOTS of potential. i think the fact that the poem is so commonly known simply forces this song to be very catchy (hey, even i know this poem by heart, and i wasn't exactly raised on 19th century american literature...) it's one of the very few stevie demos i actually listen to. i'd be surprised NOT to find this song in the new album. |

Their 2003 World Tour will be called "The Peacekeepr Tour" - Which means it is most likely the name of the album.

I got some rather dismal news a day or two ago. I heard that the album was very recently transformed from a double CD into a single CD with 19 tracks on it. Mark Needham mixed the tracks, & Bernie Grundman is mastering the album. I'm not sure why the possible flip-flop between double & single CD release, but I sure hope it's a double when it hits the stores. More tunes are more tunes! |
David you're killin me here.
Alternatively that rings bells for a Lindsey solo album sometime this century or before he kicks the bucket, but still.... Stupid mixed messages and RUMOURS! Lol!:( :distress: :wavey: Thanks for the info btw:D |
I did some research, and Mark Needham has engineered and/or mixed albums for Meredith Brooks, Jonathan Cain, and the band Cake... among others.
Bernie Grundman has mastered albums for Jim Brickman, The Carpenters, Sheryl Crow, the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles, Barbra Streisand, Joan Baez, Aaliyah, Ryan Adams, Warren Zevon, and several dozen others. Johnny Stew |
Bernie Grundman masters for EVERYONE in the industry...it is crazy.

I don`t know where some of you get your infos from. In the net these are not available. So this forum appears to be the first source to be well informed.
And if that information is right- here we are- as predicted and expected! Despite of all the Mick Fleetwood interview and infomails. We forget the double CD thing and wait to get a single CD. With maybe 9 LB songs we already know. Some of them Stones covers... Seems not everyone here already noticed the news. |
I was told a few weeks ago (and posted here about it), that the band had 23 songs completed, and were going to pair the project down to an even 20.
19 songs isn't far off from the info I was given, so that's not the part that disappointments me. The part that disappointments me, is the current info/rumour that the album will most likely be released on May 6th ("give or take a week")... but then, even *that* could change. Maybe that info will prove wrong, but the source for it has always been pretty dang reliable. I guess we'll see. (As for those remaining 4 songs, I still have a strong feeling that they'll be released as a Best Buy exclusive, or some kind of tour promotion.) Johnny Stew |
Could you tell me more about the "Best buy" thing? I read about this a few times here, but it is unknown here in Germany as far as I know. Who brings out these BB things and what kind of artists are concerned? Is there a certain common topic? Or artists under a certain label? Thanks for the info. Stefan
|
Best Buy...
is a retail outlet that specializes in electronics. In the past they have had new music releases that included bonus music (extra songs/DVD/etc.) with the purchase.
Alot of the artist used are well-known artist such as Fleetwood Mac & Paul McCartney (I ordered hs "Back In The US" live set and received a free extra DVD-single of the song "Matchbox")...Brian J. ps-I dont think that the artists label is a factor in the BestBuy bonuses...I have seen alot of different labels involved in these promotions. |
Just to add to what Brian wrote... both Fleetwood Mac, as a band, and Stevie, solo, have already done Best Buy giveaways.
In these particular cases, the "Best Buy exclusive" was a 2-disc set, that you had to send away for. (You could get the coupons at one of the concerts.) You filled out the little certificate, mailed it in, and about a month or so later, the set would arrive. You'll find more info here.... They prolly wanna shoot for a summer tour...when is there a better time to do it? So May 6th sounds logical. Right in the middle of spring...right before summer.
|
Upsetting news!!! May 6th!!!! A single cd!!!!! Not to quote Conrad: "The horror! The horror!!"
