A boarded-up career
Hmmm, it occurs to me... has this board actually outlasted Lindsey's solo career?
|
 Nope, I still have faith that GOS will be released... eventually. If not then this board still has a way to go to surpass Lindsey's solo career in length, 1981-1993 (with the concerts.)

Has "GoS" been officially released? NO!
Have any of the interviews said anything about Lindsey working on HIS material? NO! The only reports of Fleetwood Mac actually WORKING has been on Stevie's "17 demos". I think it can be taken from that, that Lindsey's material, for all intents & purposes is finished. Whatever material Lindsey uses on this new FMac album will be culled from "GoS" tunes. MAYYYYYYYYYYBE he's written a couple of new tunes...or maybe the songs that AREN'T familiar to us already are songs that would've been on a completed "GoS" that WEREN'T leaked out. We'll never know. But, I think its pretty much a slam dunk that a MAJORITY of the material of Lindsey's on the new album will be EXTREMELY familiar to us. |
I agree Chili D...
Hey, that rhymes. No Linds. solo album...none...kiss his solo good bye.. 2003 is already gone...FM album ( Im still not totally sure thats even coming at this point) Then Stevie will do hers early 2005 probably...just one more.. Then after that they are 60 and I doubt really in recording mode. Sad...very sad. He missed the boat! |
Good grief
Oh this is so morbid and morose!
Well, somebody post a new thread when he finally dies, then we can finally shut down this tired old fan board once and for all! LOL:laugh: ;) |

Oh, Jessica Leigh, if only it were true . . . The GOS material I've heard is excellent IMHO, but I'd love to see some brand new stuff that is the product of a more collaborative effort with the "new" lineup. |
Livingston, Montana?
By the way, Jessica Leigh . . .
Stupid-ass Livingston, Montana, eh? Beautiful. I was there once. A fly rod in one hand, a bottle of scotch in the other. It's a long story, one that has nothing to do with FM. |
ok if you guys wan to argue with me then fine... but let it be known that when that album comes out i'm going to dig up this thread... to remind you... that i was right a long time before...
|
Yeah, me, too. This thread is bookmarked "Do not open until April 2003".
|
I really hope it is new stuff.....I mean there are a few songs that I liked, and some that I could even hear Stevie singing back-up vocals on.....but I would like to hear something different on this album, b/c I don't think that stuff would necessarliy be the best for a FM album....it had more of a DISTINCT lindsey sound than a FM sound...whatever that means....lol....anyway, I hope to hear new stuff! :)

For the most part, I think we'll see Gif of Screws songs by Lindsey. Perhaps one or two new songs by him will make the album, but I wouldn't count on that.
RESCIND THE STRIKE!!! |
Hey Carne~
Out of curiosity, what does your screen name mean? Kristin |

literally??? meat cow |
Yep, that's right... and for Spanish lesson #2... add 'de' to the middle of it for carne de vaca, and you have beef.
Laura. |
Meat cow? Like, cow meat???? lol...hahahaha.....eeeww.

And though it is spelled the same way, I did not intend it to be Spanish. It is actually Portuguese. So how can you tell? You can't by reading it, but if you heard it, you'd pick up the difference. Oh, and remember... RESCIND THE STRIKE!!! |
Thanks for the translation Carne.....interesting choice of screen name for sure! :)

whoever said that LB "missed the boat" earlier got it right...
In recent years, a great many older artists have made a considerable dent on the billboard charts and have found a new audience, many of whom are younger listeners. They've done this not by putting out a record every year, but released new material with some consistency and also toured. LB has hardly even retained his audience and that is a shame considering what a talent he is. |
You faithless 'fans'!!
What about the Rolling Stones?? They're like 10 yrs older than LB. And theyre doing a crazy tour. It aint all over folks. I find the RS gives me that sense of hope for FM/LB anyway.
|
The difference is that the Rolling Stones never stopped. Its amazing at their age that they are still doing what they're doing. That they constantly record and tour every few years rather than resting on their laurels shows integrity.
