Fleetwood Mac at 21 (1988)
I never saw this before. It was released in the UK as a Tango tour promotion. Lots of good interviews from the members including Lindsey. I love the footage of Christine playing piano in her Beverly Hills home. It shows her and Eddy's studio they shared together.

Thanks for sharing! I do remember that doc, they aired it in a local tv channel but I couldn't watch it completely. I just vividly remembered that Stevie baton twirling scene from Tusk with the Tango song. I think it was the first Mac doc I ever watched.

By the way, I won't comment about Stevie's eyes or talk at 13:00, but I say this time I do like her outfit.

The Peter Green interview was fascinating and seeing his 2 inch fingernails The doc does have an error. Tango never came close to #1 in the states but it was #1 in the UK Christine looks amazing in the late 80s |
OK this doc included what I was looking for! At 15:39, you can hear the original Dreams audio that has been replaced in the official YT channel clip with the audio from Live album (supposedly 6/14/80, Palais de Sport, Paris soundcheck, according to the cd book or vinyl inner sleeve). Is it a different audio? Or is it the same but very well re mastered? I doubt it, at the original I can't hear some harmonies that are present in the Live audio version. But her lips are very well sync, so it doesn't seems the audio from another show.

We get a Ghosts lyric at the end of her discussion of wishing Lindsey well "there is nothing else to say"
"one day they were lovers, one day they were friends, there was nothing else to say" Ghosts is very autobiographical but I wonder if that line is in reference to Lindsey. |

And, to be honest, there were moments of trial for both Billy and Rick, who knew they were stepping into some pretty heavy boots. Yet never once did anyone ask, where's Lindsey? Oh yes, the fellow from the BBC did. They did a special on us, and the interviewer broached the subject to Stevie. "I gave Lindsey up," she told him. "He's a thing of my past. I hope he finds what he's searching for, and I hope he's happy, and I wish him well. And there's nothing left to say." |

I appreciated this clip's little glimpse into her Beverly Hills studio. |

"Oh sh-*!" Lindsey shouted. "Get this bitch out of my way. And f--k the lot of you!" A great hue and cry now ensued. Lindsey headed out to his car, and Stevie followed him outside to the courtyard, trying to change his mind. |

But nobody is perfect. |
In Lindsey's defense he said it did not happen this way. Stevie's version is the most violent where she alleges he threw her against the car and she thought he was going to kill her. She started making threats that her father and brother will find him and kill him.
Who would have thought that this same Stevie that physically attacked Lindsey for him to stay in the band would be the same Stevie 30+ years later that blackmailed the band to fire Lindsey. |

Anyway what I am sure of from that whole episode that Mick wrote is that what John said is true. There was a silence. And John McVie quietly said to Lindsey Buckingham, "I think you'd better leave now." Because there's an audio from an interview I heard in some website where John says, "I meant to say leave the house, not leave the band" and he laughs! |

And yes, Tango was not #1 on both sides of the Atlantic. But I must invoke Dr. Albert. It’s all relative. In the top ten list, position 7 does not come close to #1. But it does in the Billboard 200 chart. :) Now I’m dismayed Stevie didn’t mention she went the next three days and bought all Fleetwood Mac records and listened to them back to front and that she made the decision to join Fleetwood Mac. That would have been fair and would have exposed Lindsey lying when he says "we made the decision". Why she forgot to tell that? It’s a mystery to me. Or she did and they cut off Stevie's answer. We should sue the BBC. Or did she only remember that in 1997? From the clips of Peter they took outside his house, I gather he wasn't mentally well in 1988. But I suppose he improved later, like by the time he went to the RRHOF induction, though he didn’t say a word there or so I remember. But there is an interview from 2000 in YT where he seemed to be doing better and there he did speak fluently. |
