Ticket prices

I am not flaming Stevie because I am sure most if not all concert tickets are expensive. However when I got the email from Ticketmaster that Stevie was coming to the Hard Rock in Hollywood (near my house), I was curious what the ticket prices were. Anything in the first 20 rows is about $2500 per ticket. If you go to the first tier the tickets are about $1200. The cheapest tickets I saw on the last rows on the top tier were around $400 a piece. I really don't care because I was not going but good Lord prices are high. Stevie puts on a short predictable set too. When I saw her in 2016, I paid $400 for seats right next to the stage. I got to see her dog and her walking back stage. That ticket today would be $2000. In 9 years ticket prices have went up 5 times. Remember when cars were selling for $10k over MSRP and you say, who is buying these cars? I feel like that with concert tickets. This is why the performers wont give it up. At these prices, one summer tour can make you a fortune.

I have a friend who has relatives in Charlotte, and after watching Stevie will give a concert in october, I suggested her to go to visit her cousins and go to see Stevie. I told her I was kidding and commented concerts nowadays cost more than 1,000, good seats.

However I checked the Vividseats link and there are floor seats near the stage that cist $546 or less, though minimum 2 tickets per purchase. I frankly thought there would be much more expensive.

Ok now this is really strange. I went back to Ticketmaster and the tickets that were $2500 are now $2000. Today is the last day of pre-sale and I suppose they gouge the people that have no issue spending thousands for one ticket. I wonder what the prices will be after pre-sale. It will depend on how they are selling I guess.

You know the Hard Rock is like 7,500 seats so she can charge that in a small venue for her.
What surprises me is that she’s not playing the Office Depot Center or American Airlines Arena - whatever they’re called now - which Fleetwood Mac played in. I guess the promoter doesn’t think she could sell 19,000 tickets in FL or Miami. She is playing the big arena in Tampa though.
Stevie is touring nonstop now. I wonder if she’ll actually try for high notes for these prices or just reward the audience with 8 minutes of head shaking.

I think Vividseats is a ticket resale site.

The most I ever paid was $350, when Christine came back, and that was about 20 rows back, on the floor. I'd NEVER pay more than $500 to see ANYONE. The fact that people do, just shows how stupid people are, now.

Have I ever mentioned that Mirage, 5th row center, was $15?

Google AI says that $15 in 1982 would be $45.47 in today's money. So what the actual fukc?!?!

sue 06-20-2025 03:50 AM

Why does a woman who is 77 years old and as rich as Croesus..
Need to keep raking the money in, anyway ?

She should change the set ..a little …and perform in smaller more intimate venues..
I still wouldn’t go …but it would be a change and a challenge for her.

100% very true. It is a smaller venue which does increase the price. Maybe ticket sales are not as strong as a few years ago OR the arena was booked when she was in Florida already. She's playing Tampa the night before or something. Did she not get 17,000 people in Hershey, PA last year?
However when you think about it, it does not seem right to increase prices just because a venue is smaller. That is not the fan's fault.
I wonder if bands get some sort of perk playing Hard Rock. The promoters must guarantee a bigger profit or something. Buck/Vie was playing small theaters and I was looking forward to that. Instead they played Hard Rock. Its definitely convenient for the band because they have VIP hotel rooms right at the venue.

She sold out Hershey. It was 30,000 capacity. That venue is on the campus of the amusement park. Otherwise I think that's a small town USA area.

Almost all the legends have played the Hard Rock Hollywood: Macca, Stones, Janet, Elton, Bruce, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Stevie last year, Eagles, Billy. Only U2 and Madonna come to mind as groups who haven't.

I'm just surprised Stevie's people wouldn't go for the prestige of playing an enormous hockey or basketball arena. The one in Sunrise might be one of the biggest in the US.

I wouldn't pay that much money either. But if they have money to spare and just want to do it, good for them. Cada loco con su tema, that means like, to each his own. I have also spent money on crazy things that others would criticize me for, but no regrets.

She's playing Barclays in Brooklyn the same night she was supposed to be in NJ with Billy. The prices are bananas for essentially, the exact same set list I saw at MSG pre-Covid.
I am sure she will have no issue selling that one out, assuming people have no problem paying those prices, but why would you? The same show is on YouTube right now

I assume you'll end up being right about the setlist not changing much, but technically we won't know that for sure until this tour (leg?) begins.

Because Stevie(and her fans) is a numbers gal. She judges her own worth by how much she can pull in. She'd NEVER do a cheap tickets tour for the poor fans.
Stevie is all about Stevie...

Villavic 06-20-2025 11:25 AM

I have seen Fleetwood Mac 3 times. 1997, 2009 and 2014. Would I have liked to have seen them more times? Yes, in their prime, once per tour. However I never would have gone to see them on multiple dates during the same tour. Not even if I lived in the States or they showed up in my city more than once. But that’s me.

And I decided 2014 would be the last time. I decided it that same year, not in 2016. Not only because of the prices. Actually, I liked the 2014 show but their voices were no longer the same, and I considered that in the future it would no longer be worth going to see them.

Keep in mind that in 1997 and 2014, I traveled to the US just to see Fleetwood Mac. There was no other reason. So actually I spent a lot more money than the ticket cost. (2009 was a business trip and the dates coincided). So in my case, it would be unfair to criticize someone who wants to pay more than a thousand for a ticket. Today I say I wouldn’t pay more than $500, but as I said, it’s because I think it's not worth it anymore.
Besides I don't make as much money as I used to.

I must also said that I’ve watched Moonstruck, GWTW, The Prince of Tides, The Godfather, Jurassic Park, Star Wars (original, VHS, Blu Ray, Special Edition, Streaming, etc, etc,), The Crown, Breaking Bad, etc… LOT of times, maybe thousands in some case. Yes many of them were for free, but my point is, if you don’t mind to spend the money and you want to do it, well good for you. It doesn't matter if you know by heart what's going to happen, the setlist, dialogues, whatever. If you think you’ll enjoy it, no matter that you see the same thing again, go ahead.

HomerMcvie 06-20-2025 12:40 PM

2014 was my last time, too, not counting my two BuckVie shows. The firing of Lindsey was absolutely CRIMINAL, and I refused to support Old Goatsy's version of FM.

Even IF they brought Lindsey back now, Christine's gone. The band of my life is over.

Factually, this tour started May 2022 at Jazz Fest in New Orleans. This is the “Live In Concert” Tour whose official poster features the same 2018 photo of Stevie by Randee St Nicholas with a veiled top hat and her fingerless gloves.

I agree. I refuse to pay the high prices anymore just to be further and further back from the stage, harangued by overzealous security guards, and charged $20 for a beer. If you're in Row 1, it's not like you're close to Stevie or can even see her from some spots. For thousands of dollars? Not for me.

But, if she went RAL and started having the energy delivered medically, I'd be back in... It will never happen!

I agree. It's quite rude and ignorant to call broad swaths of people "stupid," but that never stops some people here.

Edit: 'Some people here' who are on my Ignore list, so I don't have to see them unless someone quotes them. : )

I’m not sure why there’s an enormous gap between Row 1 and her stage. Is it because of COVID-19? Because it seems she got COVID from one of her band mates in 2023. I also think Sharon and Marilyn got COVID in 2023 as well since they missed two shows.
Remember the old days of chilling at the stage? Damn.

YES. One of the highlights of my life was strumming Lindsey's guitar on GYOW in 2018 on his solo tour. Seriously, my entire life I never would have thought I would have been one of those people. I also got Stevie to grab both my hands during an Edge Walk in 1998 although she did not look pleased with the sexually suggestive shirt I had on

I don’t think it’s just the income, I think it’s also the adoration she gets from performing. I’m sure she loves that.

I've told the story here before of that Edge walk. I was in panic mode because she was heading my way and I just put up both hands and she grabbed both of them. I was in my 20s and was a gym rat back then. I had this wife beater T shirt that said "Rock Hard" but it had a double meaning because it also had a figure doing a pose. I could see her looking down and reading my shirt with a perplexed look. I don't think she saw the figure

Now the silly part that all of you can make fun of me with the details I will share. I almost fainted. I felt like I was at one of those mass healing religious ceremonies where people faint. I could not even drive home properly. I kept making wrong turns until I had to pull myself together and make it back home. Still high as a kite when I got to my apartment I began calling everyone I knew to tell them what happened

Now THAT is crazy!

Awesome story, thanks for sharing! Glad you made it home safely, too LOL.

I saw Diana Ross maybe 10 years ago or so, and she held my hand for a moment. She didn’t single me out or anything, but when she was walking the stage, she touched everyone’s hand in the first row and really held on for a few seconds for everyone. I was really shocked because of all the stories about her being a diva, etc. And the stories are probably true, but I think when she’s performing in front of thousands of people, she’s excited to interact with fans… but probably not so much when it’s one on one.

Yes, I get that.
But, Sting for example…who has just a big ego as Stevie .(Maybe more to keep his 73 year old body in such fit state)..
Does play smaller venues….
Maybe in America he isn’t the crowd puller she is….(just thought that.)

Sting has hung out at my country bar in Nashville, twice. Just standing at the bar like a regular person. He even took my seat once, and I told the staff to "keep that English b@stard out of my seat!"

Can you picture Stevie going out and acting like a normal person?

No one is more enamored with Stevie than Stevie. I'm a star!

Storms123 06-22-2025 04:52 PM

I saw Mick in NYC 2 weeks ago. He was with one of his daughters (who looks just like him btw) and who I assume is his girlfriend and he was talking to someone. Came upon him quite coincidentally as I was coming out of a work meeting and he was standing in front of the building (Madison Ave and 60th in case you are wondering). I wanted to approach him but didn't want to interrupt. I think the GF noticed me and because I didn't look stalker-esque (I guess) she must given him some sort of signal because he waved. Seemed very nice, jovial and if he wasn't in a conversation, I probably would have approached him. Stevie would have been surrounded by Karen, Marty, Sharon, Marilyn and hoards of the coven, I am sure.

Villavic 06-22-2025 05:46 PM

In the 90s the Microsoft sales manager assigned to the bank where I worked, he knew I was a Mac fan and he told me he had seen Stevie Nicks in a restaurant (probably LA, I don't remember), and he dared to approach her and ask for her autograph. She signed a napkin and gave it to him. He said she was cordial, but that was the only interaction. He thanked her and returned to his table.

Yes, it's the demand for tickets that determines the size of the venue (and the price, for that matter).

Meeting Lindsey for the first time in 2011 was really surreal. This was on his one man show tour in Columbus. It was the first time he had done meet and greet packages and it was super simple. Not at all like the 2018 photo-op assembly line process they had then. In 2011 after the show, everyone with a meet and greet pass was asked to hang out in the back of the theatre. He literally just walked back to us, greeted everyone, posed for photos, signed anything you had etc. Very little security or staff hovering over us etc. It was super chill. I remember getting a little emotional and he gave me the biggest hug before posing for a photo and signing a few things. My brain couldn't quite process that Lindsey was right there and he was going in for a hug. They always say don't meet your heroes, I was so relieved to see how incredibly nice he was to everyone. He was just as nice in 2018, but perhaps a little rushed because he had a big line of folks to get through.
