Harry Styles to join Stevie at Hyde Park
Allegedly
Harry Styles will join Stevie on stage in London tonight. His band have already been seen backstage. Talk is he will perform Stop dragging my heart around..and Landslide .. Allegedly |
Thank you sue! Mick is supposed to be there perhaps they did The Chain like the MusiCares concert. Stevie said she'd like to do more Fleetwood Mac songs in her solo show.
|
He did join Stevie for Stop dragging’ and Landslide.
And very cute he looked too, they sang pretty well together.. Already on YouTube |
Great to have Stevie in the UK. Only 15 songs though! I would be disappointed if I went to a gig and only saw that many.

Kylie Minogue performed 23 songs… Admittedly there is a big age gap but even so !! (Personally I wouldn’t pay to see either) |

I think she won’t perform any of the songs you suggested, UnwindedDreams- Silver Springs is so closely identified with Lindsey, she resents I Don’t Want to Know (which is BS and should have been performed on the last FM tour instead of I Got You) and Crystal is also too identified with Lindsey; however, any of these songs would have been a real treat if Harry Styles had duetted on them the other night! Can you imagine?! |

We know Stevie is the boss in her solo touring. I do think you're right that Wsddy has input. Waddy did want to perform Crying In The Night for years according to Stevie so she did it for her 2016 Tour. I loved her early 2023 setlist when I saw her in Seattle. Sara, I Sing For The Things, and Fall From Grace - though I've seen FFG and Sara many times live, hearing Sara in her solo set was incredible. But all three of those are already gone from the setlist. I'd disagree with you that the 2022 setlist had a deep cut. That 2022 tour mirrored the 2016 Tour setlist. The new additions were three covers by Led Zep, Buffalo Springfield, and Tom Petty. I think the argument for Stevie not playing the three FM songs I mentioned because they involve Lindsey is rubbish (and not what you think is rubbish). I'm just saying Stevie wrote the songs, sang on the songs (1998 Crystal featuring lead vocal), and Stevie claims her independence so she doesn't need to depend on Lindsey to be able to perform these songs - they're not his. And my position on Stevie's setlist choices for the 2018 Tour have been clear: they were her worst on any FM tour. It was a total stifling of Stevie's great contributions to FM. The first FM Tour since The Dance not to resurrect a Stevie FM song that hadn't been played in two decades or more/ or never played at all. I think she's complacent and just figures the audience will eat up whatever she sings because they're awestruck being in the same venue with her. It's a total departure from her 2011 comments where she said she'll never do the same setlist again and again. And for myself whose spent thousands and thousands on her, it's depressing that she's gone back to the casino setlist days. |

I can’t imagine ever seeing her again solo, but I would see FM again if they got together again. I’m very thankful I got to see Christine on the last FM tour, performing with a confidence I’d never seen from her before. I suspect if people had known that was going to be her last tour, they might have gone to see her, and I don’t want to have any regrets and pass up an opportunity to see Lindsey, Mick, Stevie, and John together one last time. Not saying it will happen, but if it did I’d go. |

For my own dollar, it's not the length of her show that bothers me but the songs she performs. I think the 2022 setlist was her most boring setlist since 2008. 2023 I enjoyed and was "surprised" by, even with the two covers. I think Stevie's doing 13-15 songs rather than 20 because she's almost 80 and it's more taxing for her to perform. She's not maturing as well as Springsteen or Jagger. |

When I saw FM for their Say You Will tour on opening night, I was stunned they performed so many new songs, but since I wasn’t a fan of that album, it was a little disappointing. Especially since they didn’t sing Thrown Down, my personal favorite. When I saw FM in 1990, I was disappointed they didn’t sing more songs from the album- they performed In the Back of My Mind, Love is Dangerous, and Stand on the Rock, but I thought they would have sang Save Me, Skies the Limit, When It Comes to Love, and Freedom as well. But they didn’t. If Stevie isn’t going to record anymore, but still keep touring, I agree with you that she needs to drop the cover songs and go back to deep cuts and hits she hasn’t performed in decades, such as Talk to Me, Rooms on Fire, and I Can’t Wait. Those three songs alone would improve her setlist dramatically. And even as you pointed out, she’s older, but she’s also taking more time off between concerts than most folks, which should help her keep her energy level up. |

How does this sound for a set?
Blue Denim Sorcerer Gold Dust Woman Rock and Roll Rooms on Fire Ooh My Love Candlebright Sleeping Angel If Anyone Falls Stand Back Dreams All the Beautiful Worlds Edge of Seventeen Rhiannon Landslide Some new, some old, some rock, some ballads, some deep cuts, some hits, three encores. |

In 2014, she said she was going to play All the Beautiful Words when she toured for 24 Karat Gold. Never made it to the setlist - 3 songs from that album on that tour. Another example of her lies in recent times. |

Stevie takes at least two whole days off in between shows these days. Her performances are autopilot. |
Great song list suggestions! Here’s my fantasy list- there would be two, actually; ideally, Stevie would perform two different set lists alternating nights. That would keep her on her toes and provide a variety to her fans.
Each night would have Dreams, Landslide, Stand Back, and Edge of Seventeen. The rest would include: Rhiannon one night; Gold Dust Woman the next Gypsy one night; Seven Wonders the next Storms one night; Sara the next Stop Dragging My Heart; Whenever I Call You Friend Rooms on Fire; If Anyone Falls Talk to Me; Blue Denim Moonlight; Secret Love Crying in the Night; Long Distance Winner Sorcerer; Ooh My Love All the Beautiful Worlds; Battle of the Dragon Destiny; Rose Garden I think the songs I picked have a similar vibe, Rhiannon and GDW are performance songs, Stop Dragging and Whenever are duets, Rooms and Anyone Falls are pop songs, Talk to Me and Blue Denim are rockers, and Destiny and Rose Garden are country-ish. I know this would never happen, but what a way to keep the tour fresh. |

No Questions Asked would have been my choice over Storms for the 2018 Tour, but that too probably would have been swapped out with Gypsy LOL! |
Stevie's World Tour continues. She played in Amsterdam last night. Same short setlist that includes two covers.
Stand Back has a new intro which is a riff off between the synthesizer and Carlos. There's a sort of drum solo too. I guess this gives Stevie time backstage to cape up and hydrate. Stevie does one spin and dances in place after when she usually win spin continuously during Carlos' disco guitar. Enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7qG17BCGy8 |

I'm excited to see what the setlist will look like come end of September since she'll have over two months off from her last show. |

We know Stevie's "The Boss" in her solo career but it seems Waddy and Stevie decide what the setlist will be every night/every tour. He's the musical director and she's said he's told her what songs she can't drop. |

That's why if he goes back for this "how many warm bodies are left" reunion tour, I'll lose what respect I have left for him. He's already suffered public humiliation from her, and now wants to go back for more. He may as well put on a collar, and get a leash with which .Stevie can parade him around. |

But up until the last Rumours5 tour he was the musical director for the band and could tell them what to do, and yeah she hated it.... so obvious in the DR doc. Esp the scene when they are rehearsing and she wants to just go thru the full set late into the night and he's like, nope I have to be out of here by 9... she was NOT happy that he would not bend... And YET...she wants everyone she replaces him with to do everything just the way he would do it... Which speaks to the fact that she can't find fault with him musically or technically... she just hated that he was the boss. Agree he should not go back under any circumstances. |

I think Stevie said in a '98 interview that Lindsey can really mess up your songs if he wants too. The only ones I can think she might be referring to are Twisted and Crystal because she did her own versions solo, and Sweet Girl because she released the demo for it after The Dance. Maybe also When I See You Again and Welcome To The Room Sara (even though those are my favorites on Tango) because they seem to be thought of as garbage here:laugh: |
Does anybody have have predictions for Stevie's activity for the remainder of 2024 and for the year 2025? It's been a month since her European Tour. She has two make-up concert dates at the end of September.
Any one think she'll release an album this year? |
I doubt she will release an album, I see her more like a tour singer. But everything is possible. I just found this article, it's dated aug 22 but don't know if it's old info. I don't look up information about Stevie often.
https://www.lifeandstylemag.com/post...her-exclusive/ It just mentions about writing a couple of songs. It doesn't specify if they would be included in a Harry's album, or Stevie's. I understand that it is only the intention, not a project in progress. |

Push all vocal squabbles aside, her entire band right now is beyond boring. They're all incredibly talented musicians playing the most vanilla arrangements humanly possible. There's so much auto-pilot going on that a slight change up on the intro to Stand Back feels like an effing revelation. Yeah, it's all live but she might as well use a recording. That arrangement of Gypsy reminds me of those cringe worthy arrangements you hear recorded for Karaoke machines. |

She however has also taken a liiiitttle bit of rare, actual ownership for her own laziness/preference to party over work by saying that when one of your songs doesn't come out how you wanted "you wish you'd been there (in the studio) more" or "you wish you'd tried harder" etc...sooo..... if you think every random thought that you scribble down is genius, and you plonk it out with two fingers and then disappear for months to party / do drugs/ go on tour with another band or whatever it is, and leave it to other people to slave over it and make you look brilliant when you come back for an hour to sing your vocals...well.... Actions, meet consequences. If you don't take your songs serious enough to actually work on them, why should anyone else.... |

What bands have done with new lineups is rerecord old songs with the new lineup: Blondie, Foreigner, Journey, Kiss |

I still think she'll get an album out before Lindsey. Coming up on a year since Lindsey's self titled album tour started! |
