Upcoming new Stevie interview in Mojo Magazine: I can do anything I want now
1 Attachment(s)
Stevie is quoted "I can do anything I want because I don't have to go back to Fleetwood Mac."
She's also going to speak in depth about everything that happened with Lindsey. Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench, Robert Wachtel, and Mick Fleetwood all contributed to the interview. I attached a preview which belongs to and was created by Fleetwood Mac News on that site's Instagram page. It's to be released by Mojo on June 20! |
I find a slight but significant difference between saying "I can do anything I want because I don't have to go back to Fleetwood Mac" and "I can do anything I want now and not have to worry about going back to Fleetwood Mac", what is actually the phrase in the picture. Anyway I hope there will be an audio or video of the interview, because depending on the tone in which you say it, it can be understood in different ways.
In any case it's clear that based on that phrase thank's God there is no signs to a Fleetwood Mac "reunion". |
I guess doing what she wants is mostly limited to oldies cash grab tours now as long as she still can instead of anything remotely musically creative.

Anybody want to bet she'll bring up the Rhiannon movie again?

For somebody who has benefited IMMENSELY from Fleetwood Mac - her continual outright resentment for the band is really...shocking. This has been her schtick for over 10 years now. She complained about the 2014/2015 Tour happening so closely after 2013. This is more of the same crap she's been spewing for years. Big bad Fleetwood Mac, poor me, I've sidelined all these projects (but I did nothing during covid)...
She can do anything she wants now? I'd love to hear about all the albums she has on the shelf that Fleetwood Mac prevented from being released. Please, enlighten me on all the things you never did because of Fleetwood Mac. Is it really Fleetwood Mac you're resentful for or is it misguided anger towards that 10 year period in your 40s that were consumed with rehab. She wouldn't speak truthfully about the events with Lindsey for the past 5 years, but now she's going to kick up the dust and (presumably) spill a bunch of BS how many years later? Ticket sales must be dwindling. I can't wait for her to retire. What a bitter, revengeful, ungrateful, pompous person. I can't believe this is the same person I admired for 20 years. I truly find absolutely nothing enjoyable about what shes turned into. Nails on chalkboard every time she speaks. |

This is exactly how I feel, and it's so strange. After worshipping, celebrating, and supporting her for decades, I don't recognize her anymore. The strangest part is, after admiring what I thought were her real sensibilities for so long, I still expect her to finally come round and apologize and capitulate for her nasty, horrible behavior. Even though I know it's absurd to think that. I realize now that everything she ever did was calculated and opportunistic and not at all the 'fairy gypsy boho rock and roll princess" I thought I was admiring. Sad and gross. |
Here’s a snippet about a potential new album:
Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks reveals to MOJO she’s working on the follow up to 2011’s In Your Dreams Speaking exclusively in the new issue of MOJO, Stevie Nicks has revealed she’s working on new music and plans to go into the studio later this summer. The Fleetwood Mac singer released an emotional plea ahead of 2020’s US Presidential election called Show Them The Way (co-written with producer Greg Kurstin, and featuring the Foo Fighters Dave Grohl) and a cover Buffalo Springfield’s For What It’s Worth in 2022. However, it’s been over a decade since she last put out a solo album, 2011’s In Your Dreams, yet that looks like it may change soon. “At the end of pandemic, I finally started to write again,” Nicks tells MOJO’s Bob Mehr. “I’ve got this song about women’s rights that I think is really strong. And I wrote a song called The Vampire’s Wife, which is one of the best things I’ve ever written. It’s a story song, like Gypsy’s a story song, and Rhiannon’s a story song. So maybe that’s the beginning of an album.” Nicks plans to go into the studio to record her new material later this summer, following her forthcoming run of European dates, including her headlining show at Hyde Park in July. |
Remember when she said "Show Them the Way" was the among the best things she's written and stands up next to Edge of 17 :]
Two songs in ten years and you "might" have the start of a new album? Oh...it's Fleetwood Mac's fault. I forgot. https://i.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTc...ized-large.gif |

I’m sure she will bring out some vault songs that wasn’t used on the last release. Julia and Sanctuary come to mind as two decent songs. |
Songs about ..Women's rights and Vampire Wives
Fifty year old material from out of The Vault. Quasi political content in a gasp to be topical and with it and youthful. I do not want an Album at all. (For various reasons.) ( I haven’t forgiven her) Thanks but no thanks. And anyway, I’ll believe it when it’s released. |
Uhg. Topical political crap? No thanks. She’s 75ish. I don’t wanna hear about her botched abortions and how lonely she is On the same album. You got what you deserved. Alone and grandchildless. Go complain to someone who cares.

Greg Kurstin should produce the album. He did a great job with For What's Worth. I also like John Shanks. It's obvious, however, that she has been working on it with Sheryl Crow. We will see what happens. Her writing though...
|
Another potential album with a hodge-podge of producers. You'd think she'd learn at least one lesson. Then again, she's always right in her delusional world.

Is the name of the women's rights song, "I don't agree with anything anybody says, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S A GIRL"? No, that's what my great grandpa said. Or was it from her Rock Hall speech--FIVE YEARS AGO. I can't remember. Siiiiiigh.

Is this going to be a rock album or a pop album? At 76, is she going to try to cater to twenty-somethings. That would be embarrassing.
|
I am definitely curious, but honestly, is this really going to see the light of day?

She's nuttier than a squirrel turd.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of interest on this site about it. Maybe that's because she made soo many fans mad.

Obviously since the band is over and there is no new activity, music, etc., there is not much interest. But beyond that, the fact that most of threads and posts are focused on repeatedly complaining about what we already know and ranting about the villains; it is no longer fun.
On june 18 it was Mirage release 42 anniversary, and nobody posted about it in the Rumours forum. |

For those of us that have been here for 20+ years, IT'S ALL BEEN SAID, unless one of them kicks the bucket or something. |

If I looked up all the unreleased stuff, I could build a track list for a new album. There’s enough still unreleased to throw on an album and still be pretty decent. Did she ever release Joan of Arc? |
^^^I like three out of four of those, and I went to listen to "All the King's Horses" for the first time in a long time to see if I was missing something about it. It still seems simple and repetitive to me, but apparently even "Dreams" was simple and repetitive sounding before being produced up, so maybe it does have potential.
For the record, "The Three Birds of Rhiannon" should have been on a film project soundtrack released in 1984, "Beautiful Ghost" should have been on The Other Side of the Mirror, and I haven't decided yet about "Jimmy Come Back". |
