Buffalo 2023
The quality of this show is excellent. Stevie tells the crowd that on Mac's first tour with her, she, Chris and John went shopping and she bought her first top hat in Buffalo that she still has.

edit-- i found it, it's right at the beginning, how convenient! thanks for mentioning the story was in there. --Lis |
What she doesn't mention is that the hat sorted her into Slytherin.
|
She needs a new wardrobe. Jesus....
|
Is the reason she doesn’t spin anymore because she’s 75?

Of course Storytellers started it in 98. |

Well, they sure let the horse out of the barn because she just gets longer and longer winded every tour since. |
Yes, Storytellers was 1998.

I was just listening to 720am ABC radio station, when they played Aretha Franklin singing, 'I Say A Little Prayer For You' while I was reading this post and this line "Wondering what dress to wear now." made me think of Stevie. I'm sure Margi Kent could use her magic, again, to design her a whole new 'Hit The Stage Lily' wardrobe to include the chiffon, diaphanous capes and dresses that both, Margi and Stevie are famous for. |

The dress (uniform) looks like a crinoline it’s so corseted. Though she sounds quite good, her voice is very powerful. |
How is it possible that she really thinks it's worthwhile to have story time before Gypsy...AGAIN? All die-hard fans aside, if you think about the number of people who have casually attended the 2014/2015/2019/2022 Fleetwood Mac/Solo shows who were subjected to the Gypsy story hour - everyone has already heard nearly every version she has. It's like being held hostage at a Baskin Robbins - nobody is leaving until you hear this 31 f**cking ways.
I really don't know how some of those long term members of her band do it. The money must be good. What a stale show. |

I think this needs to be addressed. Every business should ask for feedback and adjust, their, practices accordingly, for the sake of their customers. She needs to keep her show fresh for her sake as well as the sake of her 'customers'. After all, this is her legacy and she will be remembered for everything she does. She has too many songs that need to be performed, as well, to keep her fans and 'customers' interested. Also, to freshen up her show, going forward, if there are any of her band or managers reading this, can you follow this up, please? :wavey: :xoxo: |
Ok I took one for the team and actually listened to her full Gypsy speech/intro for this show. Its just as long as ever but it has morphed into something else. For 2014/2015 OWTS she spoke about the early days on the road with Buckingham and opening for CCR and going to a clothing store in the velvet underground to buy her first really cool outfit. The speech was pretty much the same for 24k Gold.
This speech was about how much money she was making when she first joined Fleetwood Mac compared to her hard life before joining. Her mother is now brought up in the Gypsy story. She says she would ground herself and move her mattress to the floor to sort of remember the hard times. But in the end she says she was still "Stevie." Stevie has taken form of someone bigger than herself. |

And for the money Stevie's charging: $1,000, $750, $350 for the floor seats and $200 for upper seats she likely can't play Rock A Little, Alice, and Violet and Blue for example. I Sing for the Things is her only deep cut. You are so right that now and frankly, last year were the times for her to go deep with no new album to play. Fall From Grace has been played hundreds of times. Do In Your Dreams or the Twisted from 24 Karat Gold. Hell, play the Bella Donna album in full with The Dealer, Blue Lamp, and Sleeping Angel. But she has returned to the 2005-2010 casino/shed show setlist. And she's making mad money. The audiences are so happy to be in the same room with her but these are not die hard fans. Die hards want the stuff that thousands in the venue don't know. |
...and bragging to your audience about how much money you were making in a time when we're coming off of a life changing pandemic and an inflation spiral? It's pretty gross. There are better ways to do it, but her approach just comes across entirely tacky.

Is it weird that Deacon came back, after he quit? The last time I saw them, when Deacon and Vince joined, the first thing I noticed was that did ZERO Henley solo songs, which was weird. |
Does anyone really believe she slept on a mattress on the floor while making all that money in the early days of Fleetwood Mac?
I thought it was funny (and so did the audience) when she wont say she was "rich". She says she was "not poor." The Gypsy story has change from "I was a young artist in a band in a really cool location at a cool time in history. Got to see, play with, and experience lots of things" TO "I was poor and working so hard as a house cleaner and became famous and filthy rich. But I did not let it go to my head, I slept on the floor just to remind myself what it was like not being so rich" BTW Stevie Regardless of how much money one makes, we all must file income taxes. It almost sounds like she never filed for taxes until she was rich. I smell another IRA audit coming  |

Poor Timothy gets one song now. They could throw him Love Will Keeps Us Alive and I Don’t Want To Hear Anymore. |

The Gypsy stories have evolved and changed so many times at this point, it's become less and less of a sincere reflection and increasingly more of a contrived schtick. |

And I definitely agree with dreamsunwinded that For What It’s Worth should be removed from the set, too! |

I agree about FWIW....that song has been covered so many times over the years. Her version, although nicely done....it doesn't really bring anything new to the table. |
I am curious if Soldier’s Angel tonight will have mention of Israel and Palestine.
