Looks like Taylor Swift

HomerMcvie 10-02-2023 12:08 PM

It really does look like the Tay Tay.

Macfan4life 10-02-2023 12:40 PM

As if her head was not already big enough. Now this. I think this will weave itself into the Gypsy story. "I had a dream and I went to the store to try on these really cool clothes and looked in the mirror. I knew I was going to be famous. I knew I would someday be Barbie"

Jondalar 10-02-2023 12:48 PM

They should of done the Street Angel era when she had three chins.

LMAO!!!

This is pretty cool. I imagine it will sell out, or whatever dolls do when they run out of inventory. I am envisioning a big line of pop star Barbies: Cher, Axl Rose & Slash, Coolio with his locks, Justin Bieber in his baseball cap, Lady Gaga at a piano, Bruno Mars in gold chains, Harry Styles in bell bottoms, Freddie Mercury with buck teeth.

I’m holding off until they do Marilyn Manson in his ass chaps.

Sir, I would like to purchase you a beer.

It feels so weird (and sad) to not be excited about this. Few, (who are not fan royalty like us), understand that after years of fandom and planning around concert dates, longing for album and box set releases, and searching-PRE-Internet for ANYTHING about the band and Stevie, that it feels like being in mourning. But after she "ruined the band of my life," to quote someone we all know, I just refuse to continue to participate in any way. I will say that, even before Lindseygate, I often cringed at how lame and embarrassing she was becoming, and after watching the clip of her announcement, she appears to be turning into the senile old aunt that makes everyone uncomfortable. Sigh. Maybe that's what she's going for. Smh. #sorrynotsorry :(

snroxman 10-02-2023 05:31 PM

OMG! This is hilarious! Everyone - I'm with you. I'll buy the second round.

Will I buy one of these? Probably. I can't wait .... too long :)

Having just seen another artist this summer (she's one of The Go-Gos) my first thought was "What a mash-up! The body and hair of (so and so) and the look of Stevie Nicks!"

aleuzzi 10-02-2023 07:11 PM

Silenced tambourines and pillbox hats sold separately.

JeremyGloff 10-02-2023 08:07 PM

LOL The Street Angel Stevie Barbie - in addition to the silenced tambourines and pillbox hats...the tour bus, hair crimper, and Glyn Johns voodoo doll also sold separately lol! No Waddy!

Yeah, but Rick Vito had a way better wardrobe.

Dilbert down in procurement probably ordered the wrong number of protoypes for a Taylor doll that didn't pan out.

So they had a blank space and wrote Stevie's name.

sleepless child 10-03-2023 10:47 AM

I was a bit dissapointed when I saw the doll. Maybe when I get it, (yes, I ordered one) it will look better in person. The boots are too short. They need to go nearer to the knee. The skirt needs to be more wispy and I don't think the hair is right for 1977. It needs to be more of a shag and a bit curlier. Some people have said this is a barbie in the "likeness" of Stevie, but the other barbies I've seen of singers like Tina Turner and Gloria Estefan look much closer to their likeness. I'm not sure what happened here. Stevie did ask for changes after seeing the first prototype

Jondalar 10-03-2023 04:50 PM

I just saw on twitter that the doll sold out in one day.

Then that explains it. She must have changed it to not look like herself and more like Taylor Swift. If you got rid of the tambourine and shawl, no one would guess it was Stevie. The boots should have bee less Cat Woman like and leg part made of felt or maybe leg warmers. They could have given her a half moon necklace and top hat with scarf.
But its Barbie and they made a sexy vixen Stevie. I think an OSOTM Stevie would have been better, dressed all in red, big puffy 80s hair, and that blank klonopin stare.

BombaySapphire3 10-04-2023 02:08 PM

So since she brought out one of the dolls at MSG and said "I am her and she is me" does she get royalties with each one sold?

The boots are all wrong. Even Stevie got her bootmaker wrong recently — it wasn’t Pasquale Di Fabrizio who was making her boots in 1977, it was Mardiros Vartanian (don’t ask me how I know this). But even so, this doll is wearing leather go-go boots, not Stevie’s crushed suede plats. Stevie Barbie is dressed like a knock-off Stevie impersonator.

AnthonyMI 10-05-2023 08:44 AM

Comes with a ziplock bag of Cocaine and a plastic silver spoon. So you can act our your rock and roll fantasy and dig your grave!

A knock-off Stevie Impersonator....so in other words, they nailed it! :sorry::]

Now you woke up my curiosity.

Jondalar 10-05-2023 02:56 PM

What’s next? Are they going to make Exorcist Barbie, where the doll spins her head around and is covered in pea soup.

Oh, I would expect she does. $55 bucks apiece...how many do we think they will sell? If they sold 10 million, that would be over half a billion gross... That's a lot of bananas.

We know we are. But at least you guys aren't aiming your arrows at us.
