Honestly, this 'panel' are not 'experts' at all! you make numerous errors in regard to Lindsey within the first 4 minutes. it's insulting. The dismissive nature of his solo career and his contribution to the production of this record. I click each time you post and then listen long enough to realise none of you has a clue what you're talking about.

*The skin album*

*Mick and John were in the studio with Lindsey which led to the ****ing album

*Stevie, Stevie, Stevie, Stevie!!!!

They are fans and have different opinions. Yes some of them are not experts. There are so many factual errors in many of these segments that also get me frustrated because I want to stop them and correct the record.
Many times I also stop the video because I cant take some of the errors anymore. But its all in good fun. They put themselves out there and give their opinion. Some of them admit they are only Stevie fans and only recently Mac fans. So I try and give them a break. I really love these videos even though I have done the same thing as you....stop them because I cant take the errors anymore. But its all good fun. Everyone's opinion counts no matter wrong or right.

I love these too. i don't take it too seriously because they are Stevie fans (mainly) and the errors do start to add up. This one was the hardest one to get thru. The Tango Clip was pretty spot on.

I know you're both right, but this pushed me over the edge. I should delete my comment. I don't want to be cruel or rude but f*ck this is the equivalent of the tiktok generation banging on about Stevie and how she is Fleetwood Mac!

I don't often post because I find misinformation and BS being pushed as an opinion as completely disingenuous. Back into the cave I go.

Peace

You don't need to delete your post. You're being honest and I feel this group can take it. They disagree often.

This is true, isn't it? I mean, it matches with Lindsey's "isn't that weird" speech at The Dance
I had asked Mick to play drums on a solo album I was working on...
...It was weird, actually, and that brought us to this point, so, uhh...

Though he didn't mention John, I read somewhere that John was in those sessions, too.

Yes, I believe it was the 4 of them (no Stevie) This is why Christine’s vocal is on the Say You Will studio version of Bleed to Love Her.

If I won the lottery, I'd pay a group of fact checkers to follow her around, and light up a huge LIAR sign every time LIES spew from her shriveled lips.:woohoo:

Dont feel bad. I lost my marbles on the Rumours one. I actually vented on here about it. The back cover photography was being bashed. Its probably the most iconic album cover back and front. The action photos are incredible. Yet someone hated Chris's head turned and Mick was too far away, etc. It was taken by rocks most famous photographer who started out living with Jimi Hendrix and became "the" rock photographer. During the Rumours 20th anniversary show, he was in tears how proud the Rumours back cover turned out. Of all his work, he took the most pride out of this back cover. I could not take it anymore Someone commented on Chris's keyboards on Second Hand News (there aren't any).
The Live album was tough too but its not their fault. Many tracks have improper recording dates. A few of them kept saying "This sounds so good it sounds like the Rumours tour." Well it is!
I would say Jeremy is an expert or close to it. He knows alot but he is so freaking funny it keeps me watching. The best one is Rock A Little. They had some Stevie experts then and Jeremy had me fall out of my chair laughing so hard.

If I won the lottery, I would buy Warner Bros so I could broadcast an episode where the Coyote eats the Roadrunner. I was always a fan of the Coyote and it broke my heart that he never achieved his goal.

I’m in the airport on the way home from a trip and this image made me laugh—paying people to light up a liar sign each time she revises FM history! Hilarious.

Hey, I love Lindsey’s solo stuff and his career has been artistically more rewarding than any of the others. To hear it disparaged by Stevie fans would bug me, too. I like Stevie’s solo stuff (spotty as it is) and love Christine’s. But Lindsey is the only one of the three to have forged something original—something distinct from his band work. I’m less enthusiastic about the mid-80s work (including his Tango songs) but recognize their excellence. But all of the solo stuff from Cradle onward has been a gift from a very strange god! And Law and Order is amazeballs.

The Phonogenics podcasts have gotten a lot of positive attention on the Ledge in the past. This one just did not sit well with some people — and I understand why.

For what it’s worth, I’ve watched a number of their previous videos. I saw Mirage, Tusk, and Tango. Even when the group is discussing a Christine or Lindsey song, conversation often steers towards Stevie and stays there for minutes on end. That can be a sore spot for those of us who see that for many Fleetwood Mac has become Stevie Nicks & Fleetwood Mac.

I just remember the one for Time where one of them said it wasn't Fleetwood Mac because Stevie wasn't on it.

I mean, why bother reviewing something your prejudices already won't allow you to hear something for what it is and not what it isn't (and wasn't trying to be)?

You're welcome. Always happy to make you smile.

It could be like the L O E V letters in Love Will Show Us How. Every time she lies, they appear and dance a circle around her.

I hope they've got some good shoes!

I am a huge fan of this series. Sometimes I actually post them here before Jeremy. I love the different perspectives. Its fun when someone has the same perspective as you or likes a song for the same reason.
But as you know everything is fair game on this board. The ledge board comes up frequently on these Phonogenics discussions. We are discussed there just like they are discussed here. These videos are so entertaining that sometimes they have made me late for work. Jeremy's Stevie imitations are hysterical. He is so good that I think he could have a nightclub act. I would be there every night. He knows his stuff.

DownOnRodeo 07-04-2023 05:36 AM

Even assuming you do have all your facts straight, it's another completely thing to spout them correctly in an unscripted environment live on camera! I'd like to think maybe Jeremy & co's efforts will also help inspire even more diverse FM fan voices to try their hands at putting out a podcast or the like?

True. Many of us here are fans from the late 70s or early 80s. But there are new fans that came along post Dance and SYW. They have a completely different perspective than most of us here. Most of them admit they are Stevie fans and not thrilled about some of the Mac's other work. That's ok. Its a different perspective and has its place somewhere. I am defending them but like the OP, I too turned it off on many occasisons because it went too far down the rabbit hole of insanity. But you know what, its so addicting that I go back and continue watching LOL
Having said that, because they are mostly Stevie fans, their perspective of Stevie albums is a joy to watch. One guy who was on the RAL video was such an expert. He knew so much that I forgot about. Its a shame he was only on one of them.
I think they are doing Christine solo albums next. Jeremy is awesome. He is funny and so patient to let them rattle on forever. He respects and appreciates everyone's opinion.

Another great image—the love dancers. Or the flaming guitar hitting the piano each time a bit of the band’s history is reframed to suit her.

LOL!! I love y'all I'm not offended by any comments. I know sometimes things go off the rails but it's just a bunch of people donating their time having fun.

Off the top of my head:
Lindsey's solo album in the 90s was "Out Of The Cradle" right? I also feel he was supposed to release an album called "Gift Of Screws" years before the actual album materialized. I knew "Under The Skin" didn't come until much later.

There's only one Mac album left then this part of the series is over!

This made me remember that Over My Head and Warm Ways were released as singles (US and UK respectively) in 1975, but it was Rhiannon (released in 1976) that made Lindsey comment about people wondering at that time "Fleetwood Mac with hits???".

I think SYLM was released as the 4th single in the UK and it was the first to chart.

I am def going to do a podcast on BuckMcVie - I love that album. I saw them twice - once in Atlanta and once in Orlando. Like many of you, I'm pissed at Stevie for her antics around that album.

Don't roast me for this (okay, I know you probably will lol) but long before I knew any of you I made a Change.org petition to try to convince Stevie to quit being a jerk and do one more album with Fleetwood Mac! LOL

Here we sit in 2023 - it's terrible how history has played out.

That was Stevie's poor memory. She was saying this on last year's tour.

Rhiannon and Say You Love Me were the hits.

Elton knows his discography and singles like a Jeopardy contestant.
