24K Gold Show from the Tour being released

Looks like the show she filmed in March 2017 is going to get the In Your Dreams film treatment i.e. film screenings. I'd guess the dvd or on demand release would follow!

Not sure they'll be having bunches of people gather in theaters to watch anything in Sept. this year....but we'll see....

BombaySapphire3 07-07-2020 10:19 PM

Yeah..kind of grandiose to release it theatrically ..should be a direct to video.

cactusjack 07-08-2020 04:43 AM

yeah, just bring on the download or signed blu-ray

Took long enough. I was at the Pittsburgh show that was filmed. I'm interested in how it will look when it is released. I think they filmed another show also, so we'll see what show is used or if it's a combo of both shows.

I'm curious if I can see myself. I was at the Pittsburgh show too. I was right beside the stage.

I was a bit right of center stage. Right behind the camera man. I asked him what the filming was for and he said he thought it was for Showtime. LOL, I guess he really didn't know, he was just told to film.

UnwindedDreams 07-13-2020 09:04 AM

That's a great story. I think the only concerts I saw on SHOWTIME were The Rolling Stones 50 Hyde Park, The Who 50 Hyde Park, & Madonna Rebel Heart Tour.

The link I posted for the Screenings in Australia no longer has info about any screenings. Karen's been surfing the Web!

The link doesn't work anymore :-/

Maybe the whole concert will be Tango concert style close ups of Stevie. CRINGE FACTOR TIMES A MILLION!!!!

Or another Sound Stage. Easily the worst thing that she's ever done. Completely listenable. I'll take the RAL concert any day.

She was still in her thirties then ..close ups now aren't going to salvage anything.

What was the set list?

I didn’t make her 24K tour.

But her IYD setlist was PERFECT

I saw the show in Seattle. It was excellent, especially when she did 'Moonlight'.

The 'IYD' shows I went to in Boston and Saratoga Springs were cool too. The latter even had signed copies of the CD for sale at the merch booth.

Fascinating! Mostly excellent and some surprised — had she ever done Wild Heart live before?

I would rather she do Soldiers Angel than New Orleans. I love the strange, Brechtian record of SA but the live version soared — especially in an open amphitheater with the wind blowing.

TheWildHeart67 07-20-2020 05:34 PM

Ha! I knew it was going to be released! I'm really looking forward to this. I absolutely love the Soundstage shows of both Fleetwood Mac and Stevie and it's great to see this coming.

I hope the Blu-ray includes some of those great songs that she did for the first time, especially the title songs from her first two albums.

A Blu-ray is also a great format for adding commentary tracks, new interviews for the release, and other lovely tidbits.

I would love hilarious commentary like what we got for Stand Back.

Interesting. I wouldn't mind seeing it since I didn't go to any of the concerts for it. How much were those signed cd's sold for? Just wondering. Anyone have a picture they could post of one--if so thanks !!:D

I bought mine at the Virginia show. This is 9 years ago but I want to say it was under $75. I feel like the plain CD was $20 and the signed one was $50

Um...yeah...I have scoured the Internet and found absolutely NO information about this being released. That link from the OP comes up and says "this film no longer available". There isn't any information about a DVD or Blu-Ray release either.

You'd think there would have been some sort of press release from her label or the film's distributor about this before a small theater chain like Luna Palace Cinemas posted something about it. Who knows? Maybe that's why it was taken down in the first place ~ because someone caught wind of it.

I'm not trying to be a "Debbie Downer", but I'm not getting my hopes up for a release date anytime soon, although I sincerely hope I'm wrong. If the distributor DOES want to release it for a limited theatrical run before (hopefully) releasing it on home video/digital formats, then my guess is we won't get it until sometime after COVID-19 has died down and cinema chains/movie goers feel comfortable going back to and opening up the theatres again.

Though, in my opinion, I think they should just skip theaters altogether and go ahead and release it to home video. I mean, the concert is already three years old and the album it is promoting is 6 years old. But then Stevie and her camp have never really been known to get things done in a timely manner, at least without some sort of ultimatum or deadline from a label. Hell, wasn't Soundstage filmed in 2007 and released in 2009 or 2010? I'm guessing she and the gals have been doing overdubs on this project the past three years to make it sound perfect. I recently read Ken Caillat's book "Making Rumours" where he mentions that there were absolutely no live vocals on "The Dance" and that everything was recorded again in the studio. Which makes total sense because there are several moments where the vocals don't match the lip movements. Everything is "perfection" these days and nothing is truly "live" anymore. But they've been doing that since the Tusk Documentary, so there's no surprise there. LOL

Sorry to go off on a tangent!:laugh::laugh: But if anyone has anymore information or links to the release of this new concert movie, please post here for us. Thanks in advance! <3

Stevie could very well make the concert footage a dvd and live album with another disc of Vault songs she hasn't yet recorded professionally. Heck she could even do a full album of new songs with the DVD. Journey did that in 2008 with Revelation.

Soundstage was filmed in 07. I actually bought my copy as a BluRay in December of 08 at Sears; It was just called Stevie Nicks Live. In 09, it was released on regular DVD as Live in Chicago with different background image and font, but same pic of Stevie.

tabruns 08-06-2020 12:39 AM

I love "Moonlight," its one of my favorite Nicks songs ever. In her heyday I think it would have been a hit song.

Maybe her perspective has changed somewhat but I find it hard to believe her when she says "I don't care if a new record doesn't sell..." because she seems to still care now. True, she has released IYD and 24KG since walking away from recording after TISL....but she also complained about IYD selling only 300,000 copies.

I think its actually a tug of war within her - on the one hand she wants to get her songs out there for people to hear, but on the other it chafes her that she doesn't sell 500,000+ anymore. So we get the occasional solo album, but apparently putting up with Lindsey was no longer going to happen if they weren't selling platinum.
