Dave Stewart says he's working on something w Stevie?
From Dave's Facebook..seems a little cryptic:

He posted about this on Instagram as well. Last week he posted himself recording a guitar part with #stevienicks (https://www.instagram.com/tv/B--9KBi...=1xum21y4rhpo6) and then yesterday he tagged the photo with her (https://www.instagram.com/p/B_MEUtpp...=1dxuihvu6slps).

Hmmm. Just one song for some project, or the beginning of a new album maybe? The Rhiannon story?
|
My guess is that Stevie is releasing a song for a COVID-19 charity.

the simple and repetitive chord structure certainly seems like it could be something she originally came up with on the piano e.g., the Rhiannon songs, that he may be working on turning into fuller arrangements/production. I'd be happy to see them reach the light of day, but do wonder if Dave's musical aesthetic fits the ethereal-ness of that material....

As long as it's NOTHING like "Cheaper than Free". #AWFUL |

Well most of the music critics really loved 24 KARAT GOLD, for what its worth. I liked it, but I thought IN YOUR DREAMS and TROUBLE IN SHANGRI-LA are two of the best albums Nicks has ever done. I'd love an IN YOUR DREAMS part 2.
|
The @stevienicks Instagram account just posted a story of Stevie and Dave Grohl (from their Rolling Stone shoot a few years ago)... the plot thickens?

In Your Dreams was excellent up to about song 7 then it went south on me. Ghosts Are Gone, Italian Summer, Cheaper Then Free, Everybody Loves You etc didn't quite work for me. TISL is my favourite album of hers. I can relate to lost of things in those collection of songs.

It’s going to be recordings of her “Rhiannon poems” I assume for this movie she has been talking about since the late seventies/early eighties. I sure hope it’s not as nasal as 24kg. However, I think that her voice these days.

That’s exactly what I was hoping. Maybe a combination of both old recordings with the new. “FOTBR” vocals are amazing from back in the day. |
I bet it's a new album or something for a soundtrack.

He reposted the In Your Dreams album cover on instagram.

Yes, she can still sing .....but it’s a very alto sounding voice these days (too much booze and fags). I like her voice nowadays if she sang quieter, not that forthright, almost flat sound she sings sometimes. Unfortunately I don’t think Mr Stewart is the guy to pull that off. |

I agree wholeheartedly. Even though I love the duet version with Lindsey a lot I also LOVE Twisted here on 24KG. Also the Dealer Vocals and the title track. amazing! |

I'm fine with "Cheaper Than Free". Its an ok song for me, I don't have the utter hatred for it that some do. "Ghosts Are Gone" gets a lot of love from people that like, but I didn't like the guitar hook at all. |

I hear she's going to release a double album of all her songs produced by LB re recorded. She said they will be done the way "I intended them to sound before he went crazy with his overdubs" Sounds crazy? It's something that ingrate would do. Gypsy will be just her and a piano, as will Sara and it will be a 28 minute long version. She says her voice sounds just the way it did in 1975 so this won't be a problem. In other news it turns out Christine was really playing piano on the last tour and Mick is in if for the art.

^ How about a duet on that record with Christine named "We both had hit songs"?

Some new info: In regards to Rhiannon, Stevie says the new recording will leave out that awful Chorus with the harmonies LB insisted they add, and will be just like her demo. Also in the original song he had her go higher on "would you STAY if she promised you heaven" Stevie says the reason she doesn't hit that note live is not because she can't hit it anymore, it's because she thinks it sounds better in the 2 note nasal range it was intended. "Lindsey was always trying to make my songs more melodic, that F'in a hole!" She will also be re recording "What's the matter baby" because well, it's an embarrassment to the whole recording industry. "it was all Lindseys' fault because he was smirking at me while I was singing, so I kept asking him what was the matter." said Ms Nasal. Seven Wonders will also be redone with just the parts she actually wrote. The song will now be 3 seconds long More to come from my sources! " |

That's what all geriatric singers claim, when they no longer have the goods. "It sounds awesome when I whine the same two notes for the entire song.... Karen says so!" |
I may be in the minority but hated Dave Stewart's involvement in Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks. Although I was a bit of a closet Eurothmics fan in the 80's, his meeting Stevie and Tom was an error in time.
Dave loved to take LSD and mushrooms which really gave an understanding to the Eurothmics sound. As a Petty fan, I really thought it was the end of Tom's career the first time I heard Don't Come Around Here No More. Of course the song has grown on me over the years but STILL OMG. I also have dislike for In My Dreams with Stevie. I know I may be in the minority but Dave Stewart never impressed me. Although he is quite a fascinating fellow. |

More news on the Stevie double album front. They have decided to release two albums a few months apart. The title of the first album will be called "Noverdub" and the second "Neverdub". Both albums will feature all new versions of Stevie songs that Lindsey ruined. Stevie is currently twirling and dancing around her apartment and had no comment. We will try and get more info about the albums tomorrow.
Also in the works a new skincare line from Stevie called "I use botox and fillers stupid" . |
looks like they were working up the 24 Karat tour footage with some interview snippets
