apparently this reviewer didn't get the FM PR script / mgmt incentive to paste so the review didn't toe the line "so much better without LB!" -
https://twitter.com/exclaimdotca/sta...59572273864704 Fleetwood Mac delivered the hits in Ottawa, but they seemed unable to move past the gaping hole left by Lindsey Buckingham's departure. http://exclaim.ca/music/article/flee...ign=edctwitter Fleetwood Mac Canadian Tire Centre, Ottawa ON, November 3 Fleetwood Mac Canadian Tire Centre, Ottawa ON, November 3 Photo: Kamara Morozuk By Daniel Sylvester Published Nov 04, 2018 Although much has been made about Lindsey Buckingham's dismissal from Fleetwood Mac earlier this year, the band has been a revolving door since their formation in 1968. Hitting the nation's capital for their fourth consecutive tour, the Ottawa fans seemed nonplussed about the departure of one of the band's chief songwriters, packing the 19,000 capacity Canadian Tire Centre for "An Evening with Fleetwood Mac." Heading up the 11-piece live band, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie were joined onstage by Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie, along with newcomers Neil Finn from Crowded House and former Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell, whose lazy guitar style seemed out of step with his new band members. Curiously opening the show with "The Chain," Finn sounded youthful and charming while replicating Buckingham's vocals, while the Christine McVie-penned "Little Lies" energized the crowd, who went on to sing along with Nicks passionately during "Dreams." Moving into Rumours album track "Second Hand News," the band flew through "Say You Love Me" and "Everywhere," which found McVie struggling to propel her reedy voice across the massive arena. The Nicks-sung "Black Magic Woman" (a Fleetwood Mac original made famous by Santana) featured a spectacular Christine McVie keyboard solo that unfortunately found much of the crowd leaving their seats to explore the arena's concourse. Just as "Rhiannon" sent the audience back into a frenzy, the band ventured into a set of songs specifically designed for hardcore fans, playing pre-Buckingham/Nicks material that included 1970's "Tell Me All the Things You Do" and 1969's "Oh Well" with Campbell on vocals. "World Turning" stretched out to include an unremarkable and borderline-exasperating 14-minute drum solo from Mick Fleetwood that acted as a makeshift intermission for the other members. After a solid rendition of "Gypsy," much of the band abandoned the stage again, leaving Finn alone with his acoustic guitar to belt out his Crowded House hit "Don't Dream It's Over." Then, following "Isn't It Midnight" and "Monday Morning," the band finished strong with fan favourites "You Make Loving Fun" and "Gold Dust Woman" before closing the set off with Buckingham's "Go Your Own Way." Returning to the stage for an encore, Nicks took over the vocals for their cover of Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'" that found the stage's video screen maudlinly flashing photos of Petty with Stevie and/or Campbell. After another Buckingham song, "Don't Stop," the band closed off the show with Christine McVie's soft rock ballad "All Over Again" from 1995's little-remembered Time. That song, which is about moving on from a breakup and looking forward to the future, may or may not have been an analogy for the band's recent split. Although Nicks' magnetic stage presence gave their set some much-needed energy, Fleetwood Mac's latest incarnation seemed obsessed with their former band member, finding them utterly unable to stop themselves from reminding the crowd about the gaping hole Buckingham's departure left on the evening's performance. |
And yet you haven't even posted KBChrush's awful diss of Ottawa because ONE PERSON said something she didn't like about Tusk. I'm disappointed really. That empress has no clothes.

(Stevie on Landslide) "I've sung this song on every stage I've ever stood on, which is like three million, and I always dedicate to someone, and tonight... I'd er... reach out and ... um.. just dedicate it you... Yep, straight out. Just straight up."
lol Lost for inspiration in Ottawa it seems. |

As a Canadian, I was embarrassed by it. And would never defend that article. It is NOT indicative of how many Canadians think. Don't be so quick to always attack Kristin. Unless maybe you are just jealous of her:shrug: |

As far as marrying a musician, it has been my lifelong cardinal rule not to do that. And that is not a diss. Hobbies you say? This morning I'm thinking of reading Nietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathrustra if it's even remotely decipherable to me which it's probably not so I'll just stick to the synopsis and shopping for a Coach handbag called Dreamer that is in my mind inspired by the Ancient Queen and my love of all things ethereal. It's shallow but it takes all my time. Then I have to do the bourgeoisie thing and work.  |

You also seem to hate when Kristin supports Lindsey on social media but wouldn't it be weird if she didn't? I get why you have a problem with Lindsey but I truly don't understand why you are always making digs about his wife. I imagine she's pretty similar to a lot of rock star wives (or husbands) tbh. |

Not so blah after all...
Dancing Fleetwood Mac fan bruised, blames police
A woman who was forcibly removed from the Fleetwood Mac concert at the Canadian Tire Centre last Saturday — for dancing, she says — says she was injured in the incident and is consulting a lawyer. Annie Phaneuf has posted photos of her bruised face and arms on Facebook. And a spectator from a few seats behind her added video that has been viewed 16,000 times as of Thursday noon, appearing to show two police officers struggling with her. Phaneuf says that until she talks to a lawyer, she doesn’t want to discuss the details. Facebook, however, already has much of her story online. Phaneuf is a Fleetwood Mac fan. She went to the concert with her son, who is 14, and daughter, 12. She writes that the police “just suddenly grabbed me from the first seat next to the ailes (sic) and threw me head first agains(t) the boards.. this is where this footage starts, where I am now being jumped by the two cops, getting me off the floor and my face is pouring blood from a bloody nose, and laceration over my L eye from the board head bashing.. watching this video breaks my heart as I can see how shaken my children are, especially my poor darlin little girl.. “Both my children are traumatized, and so confused by the polices’ behaviour, they feel unsafe and lost faith in our police force..they were kept away from me for 1.5 hrs… cruelty ! All this why, because I was dancing at a concert ?!!” Ottawa police said they are “reaching out to her” but can’t find any record of her filing a complaint about the incident, and had not yet reached her by Thursday. Another fan, identified on Facebook as Danny Balleani, posted this account: “Last night at the Fleetwood Mac show in Ottawa, a woman was dancing next to her seat and was told by the security guard to not dance near the aisle. After a few slow songs she got up to dance again when two cops ran up to forcibly handcuff her and drag her away while her kids started crying and begging to let go of their mom. SHE WAS DANCING. AT A CONCERT.” Balleani is the person who posted the video. He says he has never met Phaneuf. Phaneuf said Thursday she is “flabbergasted by the reaction this is getting. “It’s all over Facebook,” she said. A Twitter user shared the original story Wednesday evening and from there it spread fast. “It’s out of my hands right now. It’s going crazy so I wanted to speak to a lawyer before I speak to anyone else.” She is hoping the attention will help her find a witness, in particular the woman who took care of her children after she was taken away. And she has repeatedly asked Facebook members to share the video in the hope of finding more witnesses. Management of the Canadian Tire Centre has not responded to a request for information. |
