How did it come to this?
How did it go from this:

Love of money and lack of character.

Oh seriously! It breaks my freaking heart! I was listening to a bootleg the other day of "Without You" from 2013 and Stevie was intro'ing it with this beautiful story of how much she loved Lindsey and he was saying the same and it was so freaking sweet and wonderful. Listen to how she talks him up in this video below and how he responds. Lindsey says at 6:15 "There are a few more chapters left in the book of Fleetwood Mac and I love you, Stevie. I love you." Stevie: "I love you." Where did that love go?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpeQXCnr_mA Stevie and Lindsey, in the clip below about 4:25, talk about becoming "the new George and Gracie" and Stevie says, "When the music is gone, we can do comedy." Lindsey talks about insisting she be in the band before he joined and says "That's love." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3z02JI77Vk It's so wrong, things ending this way after all these years! |

And then Stevie continuously refusing to record, thus the BuckVie album etc etc. |
It is just so sad, it makes my heart ache when I think about it.

Imagine having a horrific, nasty break-up and having to continue to work together, sing painful lyrics to each other, and never getting proper closure.
I am not buying the story the band is telling why Lindsey was let go. Nor am I buying the story some of the fans on this board are assuming. I think there was a huge, nasty fight before the Music Cares show. Like REALLY nasty. But that's just my opinion. |

Although SnL are two adults and can't blame Christine's presence if they're not getting along with each other, she is senior to them in the band (now in a very literal sense ) and her return would have upturned whatever delicate balance and narrative they had going on as the Buckingham and Nicks Show, and possibly resulted in a regression of mindsets, dynamics and behavior to what they were in the 70s~80s years. |
A fake relationship gone $our.

Came across this quote:
"Lindsey is probably the man who loved me the most in my life. So when I die I will remember that: that of all the men in my life Lindsey, absolutely, bar none, was the man who loved me the most." - Stevie, Q Magazine, 2008 I really hope Stevie turns it around or, on that deathbed, I fear she will be filled with regret.... |

Stevie needs an abacus to count hers |

Oh boy not this contractual obligation again. Show me the contract. Show me the proof.
I give up. Fuzzyplum has a superb point about the abacus though. SUPERB.:xoxo::xoxo::xoxo: Edited to add that "he has not denied this" is NOT proof. I have not denied to have stolen my neighbours car, yet, I haven't. |

Where the hell's my car gone???? |

If by "loved the most" she mean "boinked the most", than "correct". I honestly don't think that woman has truly loved anyone but her own reflection. Ever. People who are great at writing about love seldom experienced or had much luck with it. :sorry: Like the monignior at my church growing up once said in a sermon "love is NOT a pulsating pen......" You get the picture. |

Stevie and Lindsey
I was going to start a separate thread about Lindsey and Stevie but noticed the discussion here has evolved into that anyway.
Lindsey and Stevie did love each other. Do they love each other still? Of course they do. Listen to the emotion in She Loves Him Still, recorded just four years ago. And I have NO DOUBT that Stevie is going to drop some bombs in the form of two or three new songs on tour about, you guessed it, Lindsey. :xoxo::xoxo: Or maybe she will just sing "My Mother's Rings" about her mom. :( Stevie and Lindsey were together EIGHT years. My dad dated a lady named Lizz for EIGHT years. He never got over her, even though he remarried, he still hates anyone to say a bad word about Lizz. But my mom is another story, he has loathed her for the 16 years they have been divorced. Stevie is Lindsey's Lizz. Or Lizz is Dad's Stevie. The men and women we never get over, even if we move on and you know what - after 43 years as close colleagues, who can blame them for wanting time apart, when their full time touring schedule would push them to breaking point and damage Lindsey's marriage and Stevie's romance with Dave Stewart? (Tongue in cheek there) |
If it were a mutual decision to take some time apart, then that would be one thing.
But Lindsey was fired from the band he had devoted most of his life to... FOREVER, unless things change. Stevie ripped a huge part of his life away from him. She tossed him aside like garbage and replaced him with another man in a heartbeat, as if he were nothing but a sideman. How are they going to come back from this? I'm afraid she destroyed their 50 year relationship forever. :( I hope I'm wrong. |

Aside from her brother, who else is still alive that she has all that shared history with? I guess you just have to hope she wakes up one morning and realises today is the day to suck it up and give him a heartfelt apology. |

So, because Lindsey is fired from FM, we now are having to name proof that Stevie has indeed loved people in her life, and not just her own reflection in the mirror? Truly weird |

THAT. Is. Awesome. Thank you SteveMacD :xoxo: |

Mick, John, and Christine knew her before she was anyone... for a few months! You have a point with Waddy, but I think "to a lesser extent" doesn't really convey how wide the gap is. The thing about Stevie and Lindsey's shared history is that they met when they were teenagers. When you're young, there's a big difference between 17 and 23. And unlike Waddy, whose relationship with Stevie has always been filtered through nothing but music, going back to the guy with a guitar smoking pot on the floor who's part of the LA scene.... Lindsey goes back to the teenage kid grabbing lemonade out of her mother's refrigerator when they both were still living with their parents in the suburbs, nursing dreams. The gap is huge. As Angel75 says, other than Chris, there isn't any other living person who has consistently been in her life for that long. To throw it into the flames... Tragic. |

However, I am sure you are right that she loved her parents very, very much. |
