Here's the news:
http://www.hennemusic.com/2017/06/fl...-mcvie-to.html The article is pretty much the same as the rest of the articles so far. "Organically" and "body of work" make an appearance. |

We'll get to see who's backing them up. Jimmy Paxson, who's worked for Stevie in the past, posted something last week about having a serious bromance with Brett Tuggle, and said something today about finally being finished with rehearsals, although was being secretive about for whom.

Actually, the Tonight Show starts at 11:34pm Eastern.
They are listed as Buckingham McVie - My auto record on the dvr didn't catch it, I only have it set for 'Lindsey Buckingham'. |

Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie To Rock Late Night TV 06-06-2017 (hennemusic) Fleetwood Mac members Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie have announced that they will perform on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, June 8. The appearance comes on the eve of the release of the pair's self-titled debut album, which originated from a series of studio sessions in 2014 after McVie reunited with the band for dates on their On With The Show tour. The duo recorded eight tunes with Fleetwood Mac's rhythm section of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie before resuming the group's world tour, and returned to the studio to complete the project at the end of last year. "We were exploring a creative process, and the identity of the project took on a life organically," explains Buckingham. "The body of work felt like it was meant to be a duet album. We acknowledged that to each other on many occasions, and said to ourselves, 'What took us so long?!'" "We've always written well together, Lindsey and I," adds McVie, "and this has just spiralled into something really amazing that we've done between us." Read more here. |
One thing to remember is that there's a Stanley Cup playoff game on Thursday. Yesterday's game ended at 11:07, which pushed back the Tonight Show and Late Night by seven minutes. The DVR wouldn't have worked.

In any case, I'm sure the performance will be available for streaming on Friday. |

Remember the 1980's and the words "painting" "artist" and "painter" and "canvas" |
so what do we think which song will they play?
i assume it will have to be one of the 4 singles so far, and among those i think Red Sun would be the best choice. it's catchy and melodic and it has both of them on it plus even a tiny guitar solo. |

But I agree. ;) |

no the word for this project seems to be "profound"-- how many times does he say that on the 17 minute promo video?? |

In My World would be such a mistake. Why not play a song that showcases booth of them. Carnival Begin is my favorite but obviously that isn't the best choice for TV. Too Far Gone is a quick to the point catchy rocker that Has Chris and Lindsey trading off vocals. Red Sun is a great choice too, but I don't understand why this band and its solo artists are so against having their more rocking songs played on TV or ever being singles.

Confirmed! Jimmy Paxson behind the drums for LB/CM tonight: https://www.instagram.com/p/BVFbwDNhfF2/

Excited to see what they come up with! Hoping so hard it's not In My World. |
Well, THIS game won't be going into overtime! Nashville is getting a bona fide ass beating.

In My World is getting a lot of love around the world actually.
|
Weird. Will Arnett was the guest on Letterman when Guided by Voices was the musical guest (I was with them). I guess if I love the band, he's one of the guests.

Great pic of Lindsey and Brett. |
Laurie Metcalff was on a show with Bonnie Bramlett.
|
Nothing yet?????

Good performance. I possibly like the live version better than the studio one - the chorus sounded much more natural with 4 different voices versus 4 different Lindseys.
Also, Christine's little hand motions for "spinning" are cute. |
In My World....
They sounded wonderful... Looked a little nervous though... Looks like we've got LB's solo band for the tour... |
Pretty sure that was Federico Pol on bass.
|
|
I like the drummer

My thoughts:
1. Blew the album version of In My World out of the water. That's not saying TOO MUCH as I didn't like the album version much to begin with, but I might actually download the live audio to listen to on my own time. 2. Lindsey's natural voice here is fantastic. Wish he would've used it on the album version! 3. Wish they'd picked a song that showcased the two of them a bit better. I could barely hear Christine's voice (maybe I'll have to listen to it with headphones to hear it in the mix). Then again I suppose none of the songs really showcase BOTH of their voices together. There's not a Don't Stop, World Turning, Hold Me, or even Isn't It Midnight type duet on B/M. 4. The chorus was done really well. Maybe because it was being played with a full band, it just felt a lot more powerful than the album version. 5. Love the energy of these two. The happy vibes coming off of Christine practically made me smile. Much different than her "kill me now" look on The Dance! 6. Seconding the motion that her finger twirls are cute. 7. Makes me wish that a live album or some proshot footage of the concert tour will be released. If they kicked In My World's ass so hard I actually almost LIKED it, I can't imagine how good Too Far Gone, On With the Show, Red Sun, or Carnival Begin will sound. I don't know how likely it is, but Lindsey seems to put out live content fairly often. Overall: Unexpectedly loved it and hope to see/hear more like it from these two. |
