It would be a very sweet performance for this diffucult period leading to Christmas.

If Chrissie Hynde sang Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, too, the show would be really awesome! Their version appears on the same CD as Stevie's Silent Night.

Sorry but Stevie's Silent Night is cringeworthy.

I agree with you. I have always loved Stevie's version of Silent Night with Robbie. I remember it getting a lot of air play that holiday when it came out. The live version with Tom Petty rocks also with more of an upbeat tempo.

Not to mention, IF she sang Silent Night now, it would sound different than that recorded version, anyway. She's recorded it twice. But I don't think she'll sing the song live, and I think most people would rather she not drop a song to play Silent Night. But if she didn't drop a song and performed Silent Night, even just the first verse and chorus, that would be awesome.

I do love her version of Silent Night hopefully she will sing it.

Personally I wish she'd do any other Christmas song other than Silent Night it makes me think thats the only holiday song she knows--just think if she'd recorded other Christmas songs we'd have a whole holiday LP by now. No offense I'd always wanted a Christmas LP by Stevie but minus that song--heard it too many times.:eek:

Not to be a downer, (although you never know what Stevie will do and it's her show, her choice) but it's hard to imagine this wish for a Christmas song will happen. Stevie has such a short time to promote her last 2 albums plus pull a few out of the gothic gypsy trunk. I can't imagine Stevie cutting out another song to do a Christmas song. There's so much of her own music that we haven't heard over the years.

Stevie did a terrific version of "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" with Chris Isaak on his Christmas album. Take a listen:

It's only 99 cents! ;)

Yes, that performance was so cute, she sounded so good... last year I kept on listening to it during the holidays.
